
How to Manifest Who You Want to Be. Get Clear and Practice.
Just practice.
We have all heard about the Power of Now. That being present and in the now is all we have. Our past and our future are just thoughts in our heads.
I have been reflecting, lately, about not just being in the Now, but also about choosing who to be in the Now. Who do I want to Be?
Oscar Wilde said, Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.
So simple, huh? But, hmmm, who is this self? We are not stuck in manifesting a certain self. We get to choose our self. We create our journey. The Now isn’t just about being in the Now, but about creating how we feel and act in the Now.
We create who we are in the Now.
In every circumstance of our day, whether good or bad, we get to choose who we want to Be. In every circumstance of our life, whether good or bad, we get to choose who we want to Be. Even when times are tough, when we have limited control of our environment, when we have no control of events happening around us, we still get to choose who we want to Be.
We get to choose. We get to create who we are.
We get to leave behind our past, which is just thoughts in our head, and create who we are today. This is incredibly empowering, isn’t it? We don’t have to follow the script that our families, our community, our environment, our workplace, or our culture wrote for us. We really get to choose our own script.
We get to write the story of our lives.
And we do that in the big things, the little things, but mostly in the actions, behaviors, thoughts, and decisions we choose every day.
We choose who we are.
How do we do this?
- We get very clear about who we want to Be.
- Then we practice, just practice.

Who do you want to Be?
Brainstorm. Write it out. Type it out. Make a list. Review it. Look at it. Feel it. Sit with the words. The words are very important. Words can really inspire us, empower us, energize us, can’t they?
You will come back to the words again and again. Clarity is important. The words and clarity will provide focus, help us make decisions, help us take action, help us find where we fit in the world, help us understand our purpose, help us find our tribe.
If you could Be anything you dreamed, secretly desired, wanted, imagined, who would that Be?
- I want to be loving, loved, lovable
- I want to be playful
- I want to be joyful
- I want to be bold, courageous, strong
- I want to be in the flow, intuitive, connected to my source energy
- I want to be optimistic, positive, hopeful
- I want to be calm, confident, serene
- I want to be kind, giving, generous, of service
- I want to be empowered
- I want to be abundant, prosperous, successful
- I want to be on purpose
- I want to be grateful, appreciative
- I want to be filled with awe & wonder
- I want to be creative, creating, imaginative, inspired
- I want to be energized, excited, eager
Sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it? Well, it can be! It is! Say, YES to this!
We choose the feelings, the attitudes
Make another list. This one is specifically about feelings and attitudes.
What feelings do you want to feel each day? Rather than feel the feeling when you finally manifest your goal, your dream, your secret desire, what if you decided to just begin feeling those feelings now?
What if you decide to feel the feelings on the journey, the path, in your life? What if you made it a priority now?
What if you used this as your guide to make decisions and take action? Will this next step, activity, project, thing make me feel the feelings that are important to me?
What are the key feelings you wish to live today, this week, this year…through your life?
Manifesting our desired feelings is a huge step towards manifesting the life we want to live, isn’t it? If we get the feelings right, the journey is a joy, a fit, in sync with who we want to be and how we want to live. We are on purpose. We are in sync with our source.
We choose the actions
Start out by thinking about the actions of who you want to be, how you want to be. Again, clarity is important.
Start a playful, secretive week where you just choose to be that way, choose the actions of the person you want to be today, this week.
When you hear, see, or feel something good, share your joy, happiness, delight, love, kindness with another. Do this with a smile, a word, a touch, a nod, an expression of congratulations, celebration, whatever feels intuitively right for you. Be active with who you are, who you want to Be.
When you hear, see, or feel something that challenges you, remember who you want to Be right now, and Be it. Choose to respond as who you want to Be. Choose peace, choose kindness, choose calm & confidence, choose loving, or whatever it is you desire. Do this with a smile, a word, a touch, a nod, walk away, remain quiet, breathe deeply, or whatever feels intuitively right for you. Be active with who you want to Be.
We are creators. We are creating our stories. We are creating ourselves.
We aren’t just responding, reacting, and discovering in this thing we call life. We are creating. Who do you want to Be today, tomorrow, and on your journey? Then just choose to Be this self in the Now. That is all you have. That is where you create. In the Now.
Practice. Just practice.
Just try it on as a practice for a week or two. Test it. Play with it. Practice it. Revise it. Have fun with it.
