Manifest your dreams
How to Make Your Wishes Come True?
Wayne Dyer knew the right way to do it

Are you fans of Wayne Dyer? I guess I am. He is one of the rare self help/spiritual authors who does not sound like a cheap, oversimplifying, in-it-for-the-money quack whom we can find everywhere online.
Wayne is the complete opposite: this guy knows what he is talking about. At the same time, he has proven that you can make spirituality mainstream. You can have a lot of commercial success and your teaching can still be deep, meaningful and send a powerful, life-changing message. He was even a guest on “Oprah” talk show, where talked a lot about Law of Attraction and how to get what you want. During his life, he has helped many people with his teachings, while his books were sold in millions of copies. What is his secret?
Background
Dyer was a psychologist by education. He taught in high school and later became a University professor. Initially, he was mostly focused on psychology, but later he turned more to spirituality and search for enlightenment. In more than 40 published books, he has investigated many topics concerning self development and spiritual progress.
What can we learn from Wayne Dyer?
We can learn a lot! For example, how to change bad habits, how to find inner peace, how to find happiness in life (isn’t that really the point of life??), etc.
My personal favorite is also one of the most important things for most of us: how can we make our dream life a reality?
The core beliefs
His teachings could be summed up in this way: we are Gods who are playing a game of being human beings. We have to remember it, because it looks like we forgot this ancient truth. Therefore, as Gods we create our own destiny, whether consciously or unconsciously. The goal is, of course, to be a conscious creator, instead of doing it based on beliefs from our past and created by other people.
Wishes fulfilled
Today we will be focusing on his book Wishes Fulfilled — Mastering the Art of Manifesting. In it we can find an in depth explanation of how manifestation works and what is necessary to achieve it.
It doesn’t matter if you think this is some woo-woo BS, or do you really believe that thoughts and imagination create reality. Dyer has some very good, practical advice about how to make your dreams come true.
It all comes down to the power of imagination. If we want to manifest our desires, we need to imagine them in our mind as already a reality. The more senses we include (sights, sounds, smells, feeling etc.), the more vivid the scene we imagine, the stronger it will be imprinted into our subconscious mind. Then the manifestation can occur.
This is very close to teachings of Neville Goddard, a great mystic and spiritual teacher. He also believed that the imagination is the key to manifesting our desires.
Can skeptics manifest?
Of course! It is okay if you do not believe in the manifestation of your thoughts as a metaphysical/magical act. Many people have realized that a persistent focus of your mind on a single task will very often lead you to successful accomplishment of that task.
Everything that you see around you was first just an idea. Every man-made object in our world was only a vision, a dream in someone’s mind. That person imagined something and later it became a reality. Isn’t that what some call manifestation?
What about nature? Well, science confirms that nature is very intelligent. I would even argue that the whole universe was first an idea in nature’s mind. And then came the manifesting part. Some would call it Creation, some would call it the Big Bang. The name is not important, but the process.
The magic ingredient
What is the difference between manifesting and ordinary day dreaming, you might ask?
Neville Goddard explained this in a very simple way: live in the end. When you imagine something that you want, see it as an already accomplished thing.
“and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”, Romans 4:17
Live in the state where your wish is already a fact, not in the state of expecting. Live in it now, not in some future time.
One aspect that is very important is focus, complete attention on the desired state. Simply put, keep your eyes on the prize. Nothing else matters! Listening to arguments and beliefs of others that contradict your desire, will only weaken your own beliefs. Therefore, ignore objective reality — be only interested in your subjective, desired reality. It is already done in your imagination, in your mind. So it is only a matter of time before it “hardens into fact”, as Goddard used to say.
There is a famous legend about Napoleon Bonaparte. They were planning to attack an enemy army, but one of his generals was against it, saying the circumstances were not appropriate. Napoleon replied:
“Circumstances — what are circumstances? I make the circumstances!!”
That is another example why we should be aware of some facts that are maybe not favorable, but we should have laser-like-focus on the desired outcome.
BE — DO — HAVE
In short, this is the credo of manifesting. This is how it all works, seen from a different angle.
First, you have to be the person that is capable and worthy of the position and all the things you want to have. If you want to be, for example, rich and successful, you have to become the person that naturally feels successful and wealthy.
Then you have to act according to your desire: believe that it is already done, but do everything you need to make it come true. That would be the proof of your conviction or “active faith”.
Then your dreams will start to come true. And sooner or later, it will happen: you will have all that you wanted.
However, this is still not enough to manifest your desires.
- First condition says your desire must feel natural to you. You have to imagine it properly, include the senses and “get lost” in the scene. It has to feel natural, like it is completely real, not like it is happening to some random person.
- Second condition is: be commanding in your ``I AM” presence. Insist that your dream is already a reality. This does not mean being arrogant. This is in fact, about being humble and grateful for everything you already have, and at the same time being confident that you deserve more.
- You can imagine perfectly and it can feel natural in your desired state of being. However, is it aligned with your Higher Self/core values? If it is not, you will have a deep inner conflict with your true nature, which will block your manifestation. You may think that your desire is exactly what you need, but it contradicts your highest moral or spiritual conviction. In that case, your wish will not come true.

Takeaway
Creating and making our dream life is a worthy goal. Something to reach for, to motivate us and lead us through life. In the end, it is all about being happy and finding meaning in life. So, when you finally get what you wanted out of life, you may find out that it did not make you happy and content. This is OK. Then you can set new, different goals to reach, different dreams to manifest. That is actually the point. You are a creator. So keep creating!
