How To Make Money Using Google Maps
Make money for work
I tried out Google maps a few weeks ago for the first time in my life. I was frustrated with regular maps and was aiming to test the app to see if it could navigate me to my new job without any issues. I am glad to report that the app worked great. The next time I used it, I purposely forgot to turn left on the next street, and the app took a second to recalculate my location and then announced the next street to take. I kept testing the app and missed more streets and Google Maps responded by sending out new directions. The app is amazing and I would highly recommend Google maps if you need to deliver groceries, or need to find a new address for work, or pleasure.
A few years ago I downloaded a paid marketing app where I went to take pictures of products and reported my findings to get paid. Using my regular map, I was certain I was at the right location, but unfortunately for me, the company said I was not at the right store and refused to pay me! Don’t make the same mistake I did and just download Google maps to ensure you are at the right location. Here are several tips:
Your Phone’s Data Plan
Make sure your phone plan has enough data to cover Google maps. This app uses up lots of data and if you have an unlimited data plan, that’s great. My data gets capped at 20 GB but after 20 Gb, data slows down. You’ll have to purchase more data if you want Google Maps to work without buffering or slowing down.
A Phone Holder
That’s pretty important. You can buy a phone holder at a drug store or online. I paid about $20 for mine, and I clip it to the dashboard. I didn’t have one when I started with Google Maps and I put my phone in the drink holder, but that doesn’t work too well when you are glancing at Google maps.
Test Drive
If you are new to Google Maps, do a test drive. That’s right. Pick a familiar place and enter the place in Google maps. Purposely miss a few streets and watch what happens. Google Maps will find a different route to your destination. Then choose a new place, like a restaurant or pub that you would like to try in a different area. Test it out and have fun!
I am going to ask some of my followers if they have tried Google Maps for any reason and if they have any tips: Kimberly Morgan, Kimberley June, Jessica, Nuha, @Emily Forman, @Paul Smithson, @Janice Tovey, @Hayya Yasmin, @Yujian Tang, @Elizabeth, Tacapo Writes, @Shalini mahalingam, @Benjamin Swee, @Margoux Castro, @Harsh Mishra, @Leeseorin and @Jamie Northrup.
In my opinion, Google Maps is a job saver! The app saved me from getting lost and helped me to get to work on time.
For short trips, I recommend Google Maps. Some people use the app for long road trips but please be aware that your phone’s data could rise fast.
How can you make money with Google Maps?
Some of the most popular apps for “completing missions” are apps like Field Agent and Gig Walk.
Field Agent allows you to use in-store audits and get paid for taking pictures of products, like milk. I used Field Agent and the site manager finally got back to me weeks later claiming that I was at the wrong location for one task. I lost some money.
Gig Walk also offers audits, and also has a website and mobile app testing. I looked at a review on Reddit and the reviewer also agreed that the short gigs are super easy, but the site managers can be super picky. The reviewer mentions that you can make easy money this way, but take it easy. Try smaller gigs first, and then go for the larger gigs. Some of the gigs mentioned by the reviewer include taking a picture of a house or going to a grocery store and taking a picture of a product.
Check your work thoroughly before submitting your task. There is no dispute process and the site won’t pay you if site managers claim that you submitted partial or inaccurate work.
On the plus side, thousands of people are making money using Field Agent and Gig Walk. You can be one of them by signing up and doing small tasks.
You can also sign up to be a driver for Uber or Uber Eats. So many people are earning income from Uber and Uber Eats.
