How to make it on Medium? My Gameplan
A newbie’s strategy.
I am new to Medium. I came across the platform a few days ago and read some success stories that got me extremely motivated. If these guys made it, why shouldn’t I? Plus, I’ve always loved to write. A new challenge also comes in handy since an injury destroyed my professional sports career. I fell into a deep hole afterward. You can read more about it if you click here.
But all beginnings are difficult. I have researched and developed a strategy consisting of the following steps to grow on Medium.
1. Reaching 100 followers
My first goal is to break the mark of 100 followers. This way I can participate in the affiliate program and get access to more publications.
2. Having my articles published in publications
Without readers, it is difficult to move forward. I think my best option is to have as many articles as possible appear in publications to generate as many readers as possible.
3. Learning from the best
I will invest a lot of time to study the most successful writers. What can I learn? How can I level up my style? Which topics work? I hope to recognize patterns and use them for myself.
4. Interacting with other writers
Clapping for articles I like, giving feedback, and connecting with others will probably also boost my number of readers.
5. Practicing a lot
I am not afraid to suck at something new because I know I can improve by putting in the work. The best way to become a great writer is to write a lot I guess.
6. Post often
I am convinced that publishing many articles is a recipe for success. Likewise, I plan to cover different topics. I see every article as an opportunity to go viral. That’s why I’ve set myself the goal of publishing 300 articles in 2022.

7. Give value to the reader
My goal will be to write valuable articles for the readers. I want them to take something useful away from my articles. Giving value first is probably the best strategy. Maybe I will get something back.
8. Work like hell
I think you can achieve almost anything if you work hard. That’s not what I’m going to fail at. I promise.
I’m beyond excited to see how this article ages. Maybe it made you want to follow my journey.
Thanks for reading the whole story!
