How To Make A Million In 200 days
It takes money to make money, right?
How often have you heard that? How often have you used it as an excuse for not taking any action to create more wealth in your life? What if it’s wrong? What if all you needed was 50c to start you on the road to becoming a millionaire? Would you take action?
You probably think it’s a no brainer and you’re sitting there thinking of course you would take action.
The bad news is you would be wrong. That’s because the vast majority of people never take action. That’s why there are so many books and courses being sold daily on this topic. People sign up for a life-changing course and never do it.
We think we want to make more money, but the truth is too many of us are just too lazy, too disorganised or too comfortable being uncomfortable to increase our wealth.
The Common Obstacles To Making Money
Conventional wisdom tells us that getting started is the biggest hurdle to get over. Not knowing how and where to start ensures we fail before we have even started. To overcome this problem it’s recommended, we try one of these 3 options:-
- Fix your mindset
- Follow and copy a guru
- Borrow Money to start a business
Affirm Your Way To Wealth
Many of us go down the path of “fixing” our mindset first. We practise affirmations and tell ourselves we are wealthy even when we are not. We buy the usual books including:
Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harve Eker
The secret by Rhonda Byrne
We try desperately to follow the advice of the gurus, which broadly amounts to:
Believe that you are wealthy and you will be.
Raise your money thermostat and you will get the increase in money.
Say your affirmations and money will magically appear in your lap.
Here’s the thing. These books have sold millions of copies and yet not everyone who buys the books becomes a millionaire. So clearly there is some secret sauce which the vast majority of us are not getting.
Following Gurus
Once we have exhausted the books and we still haven’t made our millions, we move onto buying the course because obviously it’s better to get more in-depth information and even pay mega bucks for coaching.
We spend our hard earned money on following courses and systems and yet we still don’t make the money we desire.
Many people don’t even get started and very few actually finish the courses.
Borrowing Money
Some people borrow money and buy a business or buy into an investment. The statistics speak for themselves. Based on research in the USA 1 in 5 businesses fail in the first year. Mostly because they have run out of cash. By year 5 it’s almost 50%.
So if these methods don’t guarantee that you make money, is there anything that can help you make a million?
Yes!
There is a way to make a million starting with just 50C. I read about this system in a book that costs just $2.99, on Amazon.
The Hard Road To 1 Million
I am willing to bet that you have probably never heard of the book called “The 50C Challenge.”
It doesn’t appear on any of the best-seller lists and it’s not written by a mega famous American author. Which from my perspective is definitely a good thing as it means there’s a good chance of getting real information not slanted to the American market.
The book is written by Gericke Potgieter who is a South African. I say this only because when it comes to self-help books, America seems to monopolise the market, not because they’re better but more because they have the numbers.
The 50C Challenge is a book that helps you learn about yourself and your attitude toward money. What you do right, what you do wrong, your blocks and glass ceilings.
It’s a short book of 836 pages, but what’s written inside can be life changing. Potgieter lays down a big challenge. Take 50c and turn it into a million in 200days.
It starts with an introduction to the author and covers his remarkable journey from being a high flying business consultant to being flat broke and living at his moms. He was forced to take a long look at his situation and think about how he, a business advisor, had ended up with no money and no home. After all how hard could it be to make money? This was the turning point in his life.
He sat down and did the calculations and to his surprise, he discovered it is possible to make a million in just 200 days!
Armed with this new knowledge, he created a game and set out to become a millionaire in 200 days. What he learnt changed his life for the better and allowed him to climb out of the hole he had dug for himself. His success prompted him to write the book the 50c Challenge. He gives you some blueprints to follow and the insights he has learnt. The rest is up to you.
My Journey
I first bought the book in 2021, and I have to confess I’m not a millionaire, I’m not even close. Did it change my life when I read it? No.
This is not because the book is bad, it’s just that I did exactly what the author said I would do. Gericke predicted that most people who picked up the book will do absolutely nothing. He was right!
Fast forward to 22. I felt compelled to read the book again. This time I thought it would be a good idea to take action. But I didn’t. Again, exactly as he had predicted. But something bugged me and this time I went back again. Finally, I was ready to take action.
I’ve done a lot of work on myself over the last 18 months and the old me would have been ashamed of my lack of action and progress.
The old me would not have picked up the book for a third time. The old me would have logged it as a failure and filed it away in the shame cabinet and left it with the other failures to fester and smell and contaminate my mind. Having discarded it I would then have gone in search of the next shiny object.
Fortunately, this time around, I have some help. I’ve got a new inner coach that says “well done! I’m glad you were able to change your mind. I’m glad you are going to have another go. What can we learn about your behaviour and how can we improve it?
I just love this new inner coach. She’s helped me realise how much of my life has been lived in fear. So now I have some excellent new guidelines which I will share with you here in case you find them useful.
- Ask yourself this: How much better can it get?
- Always be curious.
- Make a decision & commit 100%
This time I’m paying more attention to the challenge and my behaviour. I now realise I need to do a lot more and be a lot more. But most importantly, it’s teaching me to make money a priority. And that’s why I’m writing this post because I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of people out there going through the motions like I was and telling themselves all sorts of stories about why they aren’t wealthier. Pretending to themselves they are doing their best when the truth is they’re not.
There is a saying that when the teacher is ready, the master will appear. As if to reinforce this message at the same time I committed to the challenge, a little email popped into my inbox from Ayo Awosika, coach number 2 in my life. It said,
“You Are Where You Are in Life Because You Want to be There.”

I’m doing one of his programmes and I have to say I love and hate him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not bad. It’s just that he is so often right. I had a great big button on my chest and he pushed it, for which I am grateful. The email was a timely reminder and reinforced the lessons I was learning from the game. As Ayo says,
“It’s important to understand that life isn’t happening to you. You’re choosing to live your life a certain way.”
I couldn’t argue with this statement. The truth is, I had been choosing not to make money. That was the reality of the situation. I now had to decide what my next choice would be!
