How to Make an Extra $50 From Your Medium Stories — Tomorrow
…and $50 more the day after
With a little creativity and some old-fashioned, sleeved-rolling hard work, we can get you to fifty new bucks in your bank account tomorrow. Thanks, Medium.
Nope, this extra money won’t all be made from the partner program.
I’ll squash that rumor right now.
Nope, you don’t have to do anything gross, embarrassing, or illegal either.
Instead, we’ll use the baked-in power of Medium’s built-in, giant audience to get you some side-income in record time.
If you want to start earning tomorrow, you’ll need to work hard today.
This method isn’t for most people… but it might be for you.
I’m not talking about clicking surveys on some kid’s app, or doing ten gigs on Fiverr. Instead, we’ll set up an infrastructure that will help feed you, automatically, for a long time.
The more work you put in, the better the results you’ll get out.
While this won’t be an exhaustive study of everything you’ll need, it’s enough to be dangerous.
I’ll show you how Medium writers can earn an extra $50 per day (or more) without relying on the partner program, or trading typing time for money.
Keep reading and I’ll show you how.
The secret plan
It’s not that secret, but many writers don’t recognize Medium’s full potential. There are a few million dedicated readers who love the platform.
These folks are here to read your stuff. If they can find it.
When you apply the infrastructure I’m about to share, you can build an international publishing business that you’ll operate largely, from your pocket.
I operate my tiny company in 84 countries.
I’ve got no employees, but me. And I still have plenty of time to watch YouTube and eat snacks at the end of the day.
If you want to earn $50 tomorrow, you’ve got a lot of work to do today.
This is how you do it…
Here’s the starter kit:
- You need an ESP- Email service provider. There are plenty to choose from. Many have free plans that will help you get started today. I like Mailerlite.
- You need a valuable, free gift for your readers. I call this your Easy Invite. Don’t make this more complicated than it needs to be. I’ve found mini courses work best (and they are the easiest to make). You can make a simple 5–7 day course, delivered via email, and you don’t need to make any fancy graphics. As long as your free content is REALLY valuable (i.e. worth paying for) and solves a specific problem for your niche, the whole thing can be text (which is great news for writers). Write the entire course first, then drop it into your ESP as a welcome sequence. You must sell free just as hard as you sell paid.
- You need a micro-course. You’ll have plenty of time later to build your massive masterpiece. You know, the course where you charge $2,900 and retire to Fiji. But for now, focus on solving a very important problem for your niche. Solve one thing that really bothers your audience. Not a nice-to-have solution, but something that keeps them awake. A micro-course is a single PDF document that can be consumed in an hour or less, and costs under $50. Here’s mine as an example. It pays all my annual business expenses every month. You can make these in PowerPoint.
- Find a course distribution platform. I like Podia. But it’s not cheap, nor free. There are plenty of other places that will handle the course delivery for you. You don’t want to email these by hand. You could also do a free version of this, using Paypal, and email them a link to your micro-course in the Thank You For Your Purchase email. Lots of options on this. Build a an automated delivery system. I repeat — do not send these yourself.
- Put a simple link to your Easy Invite at the bottom of every Medium story you write. Not only will you build your email list with every story you add to the platform, you only need 1–2 sales per day, coupled with a slow trickle of partner plan income, to earn $50 per day, or more. At the beginning or end of your welcome sequence, give a great offer for your micro-course. Maybe you offer a one-time discount of 50% off. Every person who signs-up for your Easy Invite will also get the offer for the micro-course as part of the automated email sequence.
The tribe is the ticket
When you use the Medium platform to build your email list, you no longer have to rely on your partner income for extra money.
Your email tribe is an automated way to serve your readers and make some great side-income in the process. Grow this hustle large enough and it’ll become your full-time gig.
Who needs college anyway?
Once you’ve got your infrastructure built all you have to do is encourage your readers to check out your Easy Invite. The more stories you write, the more you’ll grow your tribe, and the more days you’ll earn $50.
Yes, the up-front work is a lot, but not impossible. You need to be a little tech-friendly. You’ve got to have some patience. But most writers can do this. You’ve got the hard part — the writing part already figured out.
If I can do it (and I’m just some guy from Michigan), you can too.
…by the way, I’ve got something that might help.
I hand-crafted a free, 7-day, email masterclass called the Tribe 1K. Past students include New York Times bestselling authors.
I’ll show you how to get your first 1,000 (or your next 1,000) readers without spending a hot nickel on advertising.
Guarantee your seat before I close the doors.
We’re waiting for you.
