How to Live Your Best Life
Start today.
This has been an ongoing theme for a while now. The rapper Lil Duval, who is from my home city, Jacksonville, Florida has made a song about it. It is entitled “Living My Best Life.”
How do you do that?
I cannot tell you or anyone else how to live your best life. However, here are some suggestions that I think you should follow that will help you get on the right track to living your best life (if you’re not).
1. What do you want? This seems like a very easy question, but most people really don’t know what they want. Or, they know what they want, but they are afraid they won’t achieve it. I recently attended a seminar by Iyanla Vanzant, and she said the person you need to be honest with is yourself. Be honest with yourself, and ask yourself what you want. Make a list, and write it down.
2. Who is in your life? This is a very true predictor of how far you will go in life. I know it sounds cliché, and I am sure you have heard this before.
The truth still stands.
If you’re not hanging around people, whether it be family or friends, your direction in life will be determied by the company you keep. People can only take you in the direction of up or down; they will never leave you where you’re at. Do an assessment of those who are in your life. I’m not saying to ditch all your friends, but you may need to make some new ones.
3. Get out of your everyday routine. Try new things. Get a hobby. Take a new route to work. Pick up the phone and call somebody instead of texting them. Shop at a different grocery store. Do things differently. Change up how you do things. You may discover you like it.
I can guarantee that if you do these things your life will be great. I can guarantee if you do these things intentionally you will see some changes in your life.
Go out and live your best life. Life is short.
