How to Live in Joy
Day 20: How a treat of local strawberries brought back precious memories

This poem is part of a 30 day journey I am taking on how to live in joy in our home during lockdown here in the state of Oregon. Although things are slowly opening up, we are cautious with our ventures so that we maintain our health and especially the health of others during this global pandemic. I am finding bits of joy in our home every day to share with all of you. I encourage other writers to find joy in their homes as well and share that joy with us.
Box of Strawberries:
Juicy and ripe
A taste of late spring
A box of joy for the senses
I savor the joy with each bite
This treat brings memories
Grandma and Grandpa
A late spring day
Sunshine streaming down
A festival, a gathering
Celebrating strawberries
Creating joy in three bowls
Gleefully enjoyed together
I am taken back to this day
With each morsel I savor
They are here with me
Celebrating today
Thank you so much for stopping by to read today’s joy! I encourage Henery X (long), KeepingItRealWithAnnick and others to write a piece of poetry on joy in their homes during this time.
