How to Leverage the Law of Attraction
The answer is always within your control
Consider the following two ideas:
Idea #1
You’ve probably heard some variation of the phrase “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
If you spend time around high achievers, you tend to become a high achiever. If you hang around negative people, you become a negative person yourself.
This is to say: You are a product of your environment.
Idea #2
One night last year, I was at a party with some people I’ve looked up to for years — musical legends that were part of the soundtrack of my life. Most of the people there were all in the inner circle of my greatest musical hero.
And then there was me. Somehow I was part of this.
We hold control of our lives by choosing who we spend time with.
I looked around the room, and I didn’t see heroes. I saw friends. We had developed relationships over the past few years. I was no longer a fan. I was a friend.
Taking a moment to soak this in, I sat back at the bar with my hero’s personal chef, and I laughed.
“How did this happen?” I asked.
“Simple,” he responded. “You attract what you are.”
Now… combine these two ideas.
You are a product of your environment.
And
You attract what you are.
If we become a product of our environment, and if we consequently attract who we are, then the conclusion we reach is powerful:
We hold control of our lives by choosing who we spend time with.
Therefore, we control our destiny by the choices we make.
We choose who we become.
