7 Billion and more people in the world… But my heart chose only You

Coz …

I never wanted the stars, never shot for the moon, I like them just where they are…

But all I wanted was You …

Right there beside me — Forever …As You Are!

You’re still my first thought in the morning, and my very last thought each and every night; You’re still one of the reasons why I live, and surely the major one, for whom I survive! Darling… Even after nearly 28 long wedded years, if it wasn’t for you, At any junction in my life, I wouldn’t know what to do; For it’s still that our love is as fresh as morning dew, I can never ever dream of living my life without you! Darling… Wishing a very Happy Karwa Chauth to me and you, I pray looking forward to spending infinite years of loving you!

Karwa Chauth may be celebrated only once a year darling but I celebrate your presence in my life every second of every minute, each and every single day.

Every morning as I wake up right beside you, I look at you and look at me and see how you complete me, making us WE!

Darling, this is only because our love isn’t like the moon that borrows its light from the sun, rather it’s a forever kind of love that shines bright only for the US!

So let’s continue to Celebrate our Togetherness, Our Way even today day on Karwa Chauth day when we shall look at the moon spreading it’s milky white love all across the skies making us remember our promise that — “I’m forever yours and you’re forever mine!”

Let me tell you all a little about today, which is indeed a special day. Today is “Karwa Chauth” a very pious day for all Hindu Married Women, especially from northern India. It’s a day when all married ladies are dressed in their finery, literally all decked up as brides (if they wish too) to fast for the well being and long lives of their husbands. During this fast we are meant to wake up and have the Sargi — a combination of gifts and sweets and all finery to mark your togetherness that’s associated with a long-married life. This is given by the mother in law to the daughter-in-law basically to carry on happily, the legacy of her family. This Sargi ritual is to be done well before sunrise and then you can do whatever you wish all day long. I meant only activities or read or chill or sleep as you can’t even touch water or think of having anything to eat or drink. It’s a totally dry fast which will open when the moon is sighted that night. And do you know, every other day the moon will be clear and visible but on this one day, it acts pricey. Refuses to be seen ever on time and makes all the decked up women run up and down looking out for it. That is the most beautiful part too after the evening prayers which are done just prior to sunset, where we do a circle prayer with lit mini lamps. And then at night when the moon rises, the last part of prayers starts. We look at it from a sieve and then at our husband and then again — carrying it on till 3 rounds. Indeed the cutest part and then your husband makes you drink water and the fast opens. Then you enjoy a nice candlelight dinner together. Basically, it has a lot of romance and love-filled in it and makes us enliven our bond of love stronger than before.

I am attaching a video below so that you know what a beautiful experience it is and gets a sneak peek into my day today — 4th November 2020.

I chose to write this today as I wanted to share this beautiful experience with you all as I am also staying up to have my ‘sargi’ after a shower and getting dressed with bangles in hand, vermillion on the head and a bindi on my forehead. Not to forget the lipstick that is mandatory as well as eyeliner. All this at 3:30 am and then shall hit the bed and wake up at ease and enjoy the day.
