How To Have Super Productive Energy Level Throughout The Day
5 ways to keep you energetic and productive for a significantly long time.

Do you lack the energy to carry out basic daily tasks like going to the gym, doing your homework, doing laundry, etc? A lot of people I meet be like, “Dude I am feeling so tired and I won’t be coming to the gym with you” and I would say “Bro, you slept for 9 hours today and still not ready for this?”
So, if you are getting enough sleep and you’re still tired then what’s the problem? Believe me, I’ve been there and got out of that state a lot of time, and hence, I know almost exactly where the problem lies.
And without any further delay let’s dive into the topic.
Decide that you are not tired
Yes, I too had that what the heck feeling when I got this advice for the first time. But believe me, this will become your turning point for the rest of your life. It’s more of a mental thing than a practical thing.
If you think you have a problem being tired all the time and you start identifying yourself who is tired all the time, you are going to act that way. Instead, why not do the other way round.
Okay, so now, when we have got into a mentally active state, let’s explore some practical tips.
Fix your sleep-wake cycle
i) Do not oversleep
A lot of people feel tired because they are not getting enough sleep and in that case, you must get more sleep, you must take 7–8 hours of sleep.
But, if you are sleeping more than what is recommended, that can be a potential red flag and you might still be feeling sluggish. At least, that was the case with me, I found that for me oversleeping is far worse than undersleeping.
ii) Establish predictable sleep and wake-up times
Your bed-time is important and hence you must try to go to bed at the same time. I go to bed anywhere between 00:30 AM and 01:00 AM and wake up at 07:00 AM. Yeah, that’s a little bit less than what’s recommended but this routine keeps me active and energized throughout the day, so I still stick to this routine.
If you go to bed and wake at the same time, again and again, it will get easier. And this will help you improve your sleep cycle. So, figure out a time that works for you and stick to that, religiously, and thank me later.
The mid-day reset
Everyone has a crash in their energy level at some times of the day. I have it around 4 or 5 PM on almost every single day. That’s the time when you feel like your energy and motivation level is too low that you can’t do anything.
And, what do you do at that time? Most of you would either sleep or browse. Isn’t it? But do you feel more uncomfortable with your work than before after taking the nap or browsing? I do. And what I have figured out to do is one of these three things.
- Go for a walk
- Meditate
- Hit the gym
Yeah, I know, you might be thinking that except for the 2nd one, all of them consume energy. But, you see, there’s the catch.
That which costeth energy giveth energy
I don’t know what the science behind it is, but whenever I feel low, I always go for one of those 3 things, and they work like charm for me. I feel more energized than before.
So, just give it a try, the next time you feel low, do something physically challenging and you will understand what I was talking about.
Exercise every single day
And an intensive exercise at least every alternate day.
Every single article or video on productivity you’ll ever find will highly emphasize exercising regularly, and that’s no joke. When I am regularly going to the gym, like 4 or 5 days a week, the amount of energy I have is insane.
When you start going to the gym, in the initial period of time you won’t feel much of an energy boost, in fact, you may feel more tired than before. But, stick to it. Every good thing takes time to build up and that's the same case with your body.
Soon, your body will realize that you need more energy, and it will start supplying more energy, and for that, you need to eat better too. Human being thrives to be a physical creature and for that, you must a physically active person so that your brain and your body provides you the energy to fit into that lifestyle.
Eat better
Another cliche advice, isn’t it? But seriously, sometimes the most valuable advice can be something you have heard a thousand times before.
You become what you eat
— Cecilia Salvesen
Everything you put in your body matters. You aren’t required to follow any kind of fancy diet if you haven’t done it before. Just follow some basic rules and your tummy will help you remain productive all day long.
i) Avoid sugar
Don’t cut it out completely if you can’t, but reduce the sugar consumption drastically.
ii) Replace (cheap) carbs with nutrient-rich foods
Cheap carbs mean food items like donuts, cookies, usually things that have lots of sugar in them. Replace them with food items with complex carbs like brown rice.
iii) Eat more spinach (dark greens)
It’s almost acceptable that the darker the color of the vegetable, the more nutrients it has. And studies have proven that dark green vegetables help to keep the energy level high.
iv) Drink more water
For a healthy adult, average water intake must be around 2.5L–3L of water.
And that’s it, let’s have a glance at what we have seen so far,
- Decide that you are not tired
- Fix your sleep-wake cycle
- The mid-day reset
- Exercise every single day
- Eat better
go ahead and start implementing them in your daily life and you will see the change, not immediately but gradually, for sure.
