How to Have Ideas Ready Before Writing

As a writer, the most important step is having a topic to write about. After that task, however much writing, rewriting, and editing one needs is possible. Without having an idea, however, one cannot reach the next steps.

Since writers commonly get stuck at the idea stage, I keep an idea list. During the day, something that happens to you or that you read about may give you an article idea. It’s very helpful at these moments to type or write it.

As soon as it’s possible, it’s beneficial to add any new idea to a list with all the others. Otherwise, they’re easy to lose.

I keep my article ideas on my phone to avoid this dilemma. I always have topics to choose from.
