How To Grow Really Fast on Medium and Other Writing Tips

Old and new writers are welcome. These tips will help you grow very big really fast

Writing on Medium is a great way to share your thoughts and ideas with a large audience, but getting that large audience is usually a challenge because it takes time to build your readership and get noticed.

Here are some tips I am indulging and that can help you get started as well. I started writing actively about three months ago and I am beginning to gain good traction. These tips are from personal experience garnered within the three months that I have been here. Okay, now so back to the tips.

1. Write what you want to read: Write about topics that interest you and that you would enjoy reading yourself. Personally, I have many interests and that gives me many topics to write about. I write mainly about Technology, Self-improvement, Life lessons, Relationships etc. Writing about topics that interest you will help you stay motivated and engaged in the writing process.
2. Find your beat: Once you have identified your interests, find a few niches and stick to them. Some people will advise you to stick with just one niche. This doesn’t work for me! Try to build a loyal readership across your chosen niches and establish yourself as an expert in those fields. You can achieve this by doing step 3 below.
3. Write regularly: Consistency is key when it comes to building an audience. Try to write on a regular schedule, whether that’s daily, weekly, or monthly. As a new writer, prioritise quantity over quality. Write as often and post regularly. You will need a lot of articles to make enough money to cover your subscription fees for the next month. I give myself a crazy target of about 100 articles a month! That’s an average of 3.3 articles daily! I hit that target sometimes and sometimes I don’t, but the numbers definitely add up. A way to easily achieve this is to curate a list of possible topics to right on. At every time, I have about 30+ topics on my list. So I just pick from there and write on.
4. Promote your work: Share your stories on social media and other platforms to help grow your readership. Engage with your readers by responding to comments and feedback. Thank people who read, clap and comment on your posts. Solicit for support and share links to your other articles. Also, share your work with others and ask for feedback. This will help you improve your writing and grow as a writer.
5. Read and support other writers: Take time to read and support other writers on Medium. This will help you build relationships and grow your own readership. Comment on other posts especially viral ones. Make sure your comments are good value additions to the articles.
6. Explore publications: Medium has many publications that accept submissions. Find publications that align with your interests and submit your work to them. This is one of the fastest ways to get massive reads for your articles. Think of it as your means to exponential growth. Apply to as many publications as possible.
7. Max Out Your Daily Follows: Medium allows you to follow about 125–150 people daily ( I can’t remember the exact number). Make sure you max out that number daily. Try to follow partner accounts mostly as those are the ones that get you paid when they read your articles. I am sure you already know that you must be on the partners' program before you can paywall your articles.

By following these tips, you can start writing on Medium with confidence and build a loyal readership while making money on the side. Happy writing!
