How To Go With The Flow of Life
Your beautiful energy waves

Life is beautiful. Like a beautiful blue wave, it ebbs and flows, sometimes gushing forth and sometimes receding quietly. -Pooja Ruprell
Lately, I have noticed some days I have an enormous amount of energy. Other days and weeks, my energy or motivation diminishes a little. I believe this is the natural ebb and flow of life.
We need to honor our natural energy flow.
Sometimes we have an abundance of things we feel like doing. Other days we can only accomplish a little. Instead of getting upset at ourselves, let us rejoice every day.
On my 100-day journey exploring abundance, I learned that sometimes we have an overflow of energy, and sometimes we need to conserve it.
Yesterday in my Decluttering Club, members talked about leaving lots of projects unfinished. In our very linear society, we always feel like this is a bad thing.
However, I choose to view this differently.
In the past, I used to be much more of a completionist. Of course, I still have commitments to people or projects that I do finish.
However, if the project is personal and I feel it is no longer serving me or capturing my attention, I can be free to let it go.
Over the years, I have tried many hobbies such as candle making, soap making, sewing, and more. In all of those moments, I thoroughly enjoyed what I was doing.
Then, when the activity no longer felt engaging, I felt free to let it go.
I have also observed I can accomplish more tasks on some days than others. It is paramount to be aware of this and to honor your energy level.
Here are three ways that you can honor your energy and still accomplish tasks in your day:
Choose one daily practice task:
For me, that is writing articles Monday to Friday. I know that this is something I can accomplish. I have set aside the time and space to complete this work, and I love doing it.
Choose a daily practice that feels good to you. If you are a creator, set aside days to create. This is your daily practice to put something out into the world.
It creates a sacred space that allows you to make something to share.
If it starts to feel like an obligation, notice how your energy feels around this task. Maybe you need to adjust your hours or set aside a small amount of time per day to create.
Let things go that are not urgent:
In a linear world, we would do all the tasks every day. However, some things are more urgent than others. For example, for about two weeks, I had not done any ironing.
Other tasks were more of a priority.
Last night I decided to do all of the ironing and sew a button on a shirt. It felt great to get this done.
The best part was, I did not feel bad that I had not accomplished it earlier.
Choose one nourishing activity per day:
To have the physical and emotional energy we need to do our tasks every day, so we must nourish ourselves. It is up to you to discern what is relaxing and calming to you.
For me, I love afternoon tea. It is a great way to slow down and relax late in the day. Yesterday I decided to start this tradition to honor myself.
It is all part of creating more energy and space for abundance to show up.
I got out my teapot, some honey, and a little piece of dark chocolate. I brewed some peppermint tea and enjoyed pouring myself cup after cup. It was a rejuvenating way to spend an hour of my day.
My prayer and my intention for you is to honor the ebbs and flows of your energy every day. Your energy is abundant, but it changes. Your interests and motivations also ebb and flow. Be kind to yourself when you decide to stop doing something or take a break.
