How to Get What You Really Want
Three simple words that hold the key to it all

I have three words for you: Be. Do. Have.
You might be thinking, “Lisa, what in the goddess’s name are you talking about?”
Let me explain. Traditionally we’re taught to Do. Have. Be.
We do the work, get the stuff, and only then, do we feel that we can become the person we aspire to be (the entrepreneur, the lover, the teacher, the philanthropist, etc.). We follow a very linear and prescriptive path.
We often don’t get what we want and then wonder where we fell short because we did all the “things” we were supposed to do. And that’s because the model is backward. If we want to achieve or acquire something, whether it’s a successful business or a loving relationship, we first need to become the person who has it.
Rather than focus on the tasks, you need to embody the mindset. That’s the first step to getting what you really want!
This was quite the “ah-ha” moment for me, but it makes so much sense. It’s simple, but not easy. We get stuck in patterns of behavior, that well, keep us stuck. If we want different results in our lives, we need a different mindset.
We achieve what we want by becoming the person who has it — that might include cultivating qualities like confidence, generosity, vulnerability, the willingness to take risks, and equanimity.
So, today consider: What do I desire? Who is the type of person who has what I want? What do I need to do to evolve into that person?
In the comments below, let me know what qualities or characteristics you’re looking to cultivate to live the life you really want. ✨
