How to Get Rid of Bad Feelings — Do the Opposite of What You Feel Like Doing!
As often with matters of the mind — many things are counterintuitive!
Your instinct is to move away from bad feelings. To do whatever it takes to get rid of them, commonly by focusing on something else.
But they strengthen their grip over you if you do that, both now and going forward.
Instead what you should do is exactly the opposite of what you feel like doing. You should move closer to the bad feeling, look at it, understand it, and accept it.
You should be able to say;
I can live with this bad feeling for the rest of my life, it is ok for me.
So peace is found on the other side of the feeling.
We need the courage to go through the feeling — to find peace.
Truly counterintuitive.
And as with so many matters of the mind — the key is not to try to change anything — the key is to accept what is.
To let go.
