How To Get Our Lawmakers To Change Gun Policies!

This plan will have federal and state legislature creating laws in a hurry

After the recent killing of 19 innocent school children and 2 school teachers in Uvalde, TX, conversations have been arising all across America on how to prevent or at least slowdown gun violence.

The tally of mass shootings in this country has risen to 224 so far this year, according to gunviolence.org.

Politicians from both sides are doing the usual post-mass shooting antics. Democrats are proposing to create laws banning certain guns, raising the age limit for firearms, and implementing universal background checks.

Republicans are either offering no solution at all or blaming the shootings on mental health issues. Some in the GOP are even advocating for more lenient gun laws with the theory that “more good guys with guns” will stop the bad ones.

These are the same strategies we see over and over again in this country after these devastating events. It’s time to come up with a better solution and I think I have it:

Let a record number of black people in America line up to buy AR-15s.

Think about it, if you had millions of black folks around this country go to their local sporting goods stores, pawnshops, and gun shows to buy AR-15s, this firearm would be banned in less than a year.

I’m serious.

Going even further, black folks in open-carry states such as Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Indiana, and others should gather in large numbers and carry around their newly purchased AR-15s.

That’s right, it’s perfectly legal to openly carry around your AR-15 in these states as long as it is attached to a sling.

The government would lose its mind if black people around the country gathered together weekly carrying around AR-15s.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane when on May 2, 1967, members of the Oakland Black Panther Party entered the capitol carrying loaded firearms. They were peacefully protesting a bill that was aiming to keep guns out of the hands of black citizens.

The Governor of California at that time was Ronald Reagan. The same Reagan was caught on tape calling black people “monkeys.”

Reagan, as expected, voiced public support for the bill and the Mulford Act was passed. It is still in place today.

We could see similar legislation passed today if black people decided to purchase and carry AR-15s in public.

Without a drastic change in the makeup of Congress, not much is going to happen. The mass shooting after Sandy Hook showed us that those in politics are more worried about money and power than the safety of school children or citizens in the country.

For real change to happen, it might be up to the most disrespected demographic in the country to decide to arm themselves.

Only then will we see real change.
