How to Get More Energy During the Day
Ways to 10x your energy.
People make excuses of why they aren’t productive during the day. But I believe that everyone has the energy and willpower to get things done.
Your day might start out being full of motivation and anticipation of getting huge amounts of work done. But just 30 minutes after started, you check your phone. And you think to yourself “I am only going to be on it for 5 minutes” but that 5 minutes turns into 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, and finally it’s 5 pm and you are laying on your bed having only done 30 minutes of work.
It’s happened to everyone. But when you find yourself in that position you must stop yourself and cool yourself off so you can start working again.
It’s not about how much you work, it’s about if you can get back to work if you stop.
Exercise and Diet

Your exercise and diet are very important. I sometimes like to eat sugary things. It makes me less healthy and makes me feel very tired and lazy after I eat them. This is why I try to keep this type of food hidden away. I explain why this works in this article.
So what you eat is very important and eating the wrong things can make your day just so much worse. Sluggishness and laziness are just not what you want in your cup of tea. So what should you do when you are lazy and sluggish?
The answer is exercise. Exercise makes you active. Even if I feel tired, I do a slightly intense workout, making me want to start working. The exercise doesn’t even need to be intense, it could just be a walk around a neighborhood.
Diet and exercise are very important and can turn your day into a very productive or very unproductive one. Choosing the right one can be very effective in making your day so much better.
Know You Have Energy
Thinking that you have something is very important. It’s an identity change. You change what you think you are and you will change your behavior. Habits that come from your identity are called Identity-Based Habits.
If you want to be an energetic person you need to first know that you are energetic. For example, if two people are trying to quit smoking but when they are offered one says ‘No thanks, I am trying to quit’ which the other says ‘No thanks, I am not a smoker, the second person changed their identity while the other didn’t.
This is why changing your identity of being an energetic person is so important. It lets you create habits that you stick to because you don’t want to break your identity.
Also, Identity-Based Habits are much more effective because they come from inside you instead of external habits where they are likely to fail when not secured. So change your identity to change your habits to become a more energetic person.
Learn When You Have No Energy And Fix It.
Do you have a time of the day when you just don’t feel like working and being productive?
It is important to use this time wisely because it decides the rest of your day. If you keep doing unproductive activities you will likely keep doing it. It makes getting to work much, much harder.
For me, 2–4 PM is when I am the least productive, and therefore I try to be productive, but usually, I fail. So I go for a walk and do some exercise to get me moving. It keeps me from being unproductive and keeps me in shape.
Exercise is not the only thing you can put in your unproductive time.

Activities may include:
- Reading
- Doing busywork (washing dishes, doing the laundry)
- Taking a nap (this works sometimes just make sure if you do it, don’t sleep too long or you won’t be able to sleep that night).
These are things that are easy to do and can help you build momentum for doing more and more productive tasks.
Takeaway
The amount of energy you gave is like a phone. Some apps use more battery life than others. This is the same as your activities, some take more time and kill your energy.
Using the techniques, like exercising, dieting, creating Identity-Based Habits, going for a walk, or even taking a nap, you can 10x your energy. I have done this but still, some days just drown me.
Don’t give up, and keep going.
