How to Get Exposure

Another Photo Platform

As a long time photographer, I am far more practiced in making image exposures than I am in getting exposure for my work. This means I have thousands of pictures in my archives yet only a paltry audience.

Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore

My earliest efforts were on B&W Panchromatic film. This was primarily a an economic thing rather than esthetics. I could develop and print my own pictures. color was a Photofinisher’s task at great cost to my meager budget.

Jump ahead several decades and the availability of high resolution digital imagery and a myriad of editing applications and I became far more prolific.

What I need is people to see my work. I have mounted several gallery showings over the years, but they have a high cost to them: printing, matting, framing, shipping and retrieval.

The latest marketing effort I have undertaken is with an online platform called ClickASnap.com. There I have uploaded several hundred images representing several themes. Here I am presenting my B&W/Monochrome Album. It is not a comprehensive collection but 61 images is a start.

First Part of the B&W Album

This platform provides two features for photographers. First they pay a small “per view” fee when someone stops and looks at an image for more than 5 seconds. This fee is derived from their users and ancillary economic activity. People viewing images pay nothing.

Second, they facilitate the sale of image-based products. They collect payments, do the actually printing and ship the products. This second service is the more important one.

Photography doesn’t sell itself. The photographer needs to develop the leads and encourage buyers to buy.

The first part is for readers who read my articles to take the opportunity to see my imagery. Stop and make a leisurely view. My profile name is Lens4anEye .
