How to Get Ahead of 99% of People in 2–4 Months
2 things you can do to lead a more conscious life and avoid living on autopilot.

How would you live if you woke up and read this statement daily?
"Most people, even though they don't know it, are asleep. They're born asleep; they live asleep; they marry in their sleep; they breed children in their sleep, and they die in their sleep without ever waking up. They never understand the loveliness and the beauty of this thing we call human existence."
Visualize this story:
One morning, a father named Walter knocks on his son's door. "Will," he says, "wake up!" Will answers, "I don't want to get up, Papa."
The father shouts, "Get up; you must go to work." Will says, "I don't want to go to work." "Why not?" asks the father. "Three reasons," says Will. "First, because it's so boring; second, the employees are demanding; and third, I don't like the company."
The father says, "Well, I will give you three reasons why you must go to work. First, it is your responsibility; second, you are 34; and third, you are the company owner." Wake up! Wake up! You've grown up. You're too old to be asleep. Wake up! Stop dreaming about your video games.
Many claim they wish to move beyond their current circumstances, which is untrue. People desire to go back in time and fix their lives. They want their houses, cars, relationships, careers, memories, and everything repaired. They are stuck in the past, and they can't move forward.
Most psychologists agree with this story. People do not truly wish to be cured. Rather, they seek relief from their troubles. The healing process is too painful, so they avoid it.
Waking up is hard. Showing up to work ready is hard. Being present with your kids is hard. So, instead of changing, people make mistakes, and they go back 10 years later and ask to repair what they broke, and they ask for forgiveness.
Some of you may be reading this article while half asleep. I will avoid attempting to wake you, as it is not my business to do so. The decision to wake up is completely up to you. However, I do encourage you to wake up.
My business is to do my thing, sing my songs, dance my dance, and write my articles. A wise man once said, "The nature of rain is the same, but it makes thorns grow in the marshes and flowers in the gardens. Here are two things you can do to lead a more conscious life and avoid living on autopilot.
Turn the autopilot off.
“I used to walk into a room full of people and wonder if they liked me. Now I wonder if I like them.” — Anonymous
Don't believe something is true because most people think it's true.
Your brain has evolved over the last 200,000 years to protect you. One of the easiest ways for your brain to protect you is by having you follow the herd. When your ancestors lived in caves, being part of the herd increased your chances of survival and gave you a sense of security.
So, if your brain's default setting is to protect you, you must consciously turn the autopilot off. It is okay to dance alone and to stand out. You don't have to live hiding behind the crowd or following the herd.
If you fail to break free from your subconscious patterns, you will never unlock your full potential and instead lead a mediocre life.
Stop getting offended
“People get addicted to feeling offended all the time because it gives them a high; being self-righteous and morally superior feels good.” — Mark Manson
Many situations can make you angry, stressed, or offended daily. However, when you allow yourself to experience these negative emotions, you are giving something outside of yourself control over your happiness.
It's important to remember that you have the power to choose not to let small things bother you. Being offended is a choice, not a condition imposed on you by someone or something else. Walk away from anything or anyone who offends you, not for them, but for you.
I once offered unsolicited advice to a very close work friend. He got offended, which, in turn, offended me because I felt that he did not value my opinion. Our relationship was weakened as a result. Since that day, I have stopped offering unsolicited advice and stopped getting offended by unimportant matters.
The biggest problem is this: Society expects you to be outraged by anything: immigration, globalization, automation, artificial intelligence, stem cell research, Remote work, etc. And if you follow the herd, you will be offended by anything and everything. Stop doing that.
As Epictetus once stated, "If someone succeeds in provoking you, realize that your mind is complicit in the provocation." People are free to say whatever they want; do not get offended, learn to control your feelings, and stop doing what society trains you to do.
I assure you that somebody will be offended by this post. I just do not care. I will continue to sing my songs, dance my dance, and write my articles. I'm not responsible for how people feel.
If you follow these two simple tips, your life will never be the same.
