My Medium following in February has really taken off in the first 10 days. It’s hit over 100 followers for the month already! This is how I managed to get so many so fast.

I came across a YouTube video from Hudson Rennie about growing on medium when I first started out, and he explained how you need to engage with other peoples content, and it will reward you in return! So, I started diving into other people’s content on topics that were of interest to me and even things I knew nothing about (why not help someone else and also learn stuff along the way!) It really was a 2 birds with 1 stone kind of strategy (learn while helping others and growing your own platform at the same time)

I spent the time reading the whole article and then clapping like a toddler and leaving a comment, which would be positive or even sometimes criticism depending on my views towards the post. Every comment helps even if it is negative because heating up a comment section brings more eyes into the write-up itself.

What I found when I started doing this was that these people would start reading my content and engaging on mine in return! Before I knew it, I had gained a lot of traction when it came to people following and commenting on my content.

Final thoughts

Get reading, go support your followers, leave a comment on their content, find some new followers via publications, or just scroll through the medium feed and watch the followers flock in.
