How to Find Your One True Hustle
I’m here to tell you that it’s totally worth the time and effort — because finding your one true hustle will make all the difference in the world!

The most common mistake entrepreneurs make is not knowing their own formula for success.
A perfect example of this is when someone pursues a side hustle but doesn’t know how they want it to work for them. This has happened to me more than with my previous business.
It’s a big deal when you give up your time to do something because time is your most valuable resource. You could have been spending it doing valuable things for you instead. But that’s the fun part about side hustles, you’re never really sure where they will lead.

The common reason someone pursues a side hustle is to either fill in the gaps of their primary income or get some experience on a passion they want to eventually build into a business.
When I was building my previous startup I had two ideas that were both based on what I wanted to do next.
Both businesses were connected to digital marketing and SEO, which was my expertise at the time. I had no idea if either of these businesses would work, but I was willing to test them out for a few months to see.
My first idea, which was actually the first one I tested, was that I could get paid to write articles in my spare time.
My second idea was to promote other people's products and this really was a side hustle.
The main reason I started doing these two ideas was that I needed to make money and didn’t have a full-time job.
If I had been working for someone else making $25,000 a year, I would have never been able to get around to starting these businesses.
Now digital marketing income is like my side hustle. It gives me more time and flexibility to be able to do what I want, instead of just having to work a 9–5 job that limits what I can do with my life.
It’s scary when you think about getting used to taking advantage of this freedom, but it is really beneficial in the long run.
If you already have a business that’s generating an income for you but isn’t making the most out of it, then there is a good chance that your business isn’t running on all cylinders.
You may be doing something wrong, or you might have forgotten about something.
Instead of thinking about what you’re doing wrong, and how to fix it, think about what your business needs. Determine how much extra income you could make with just 10% more effort and see if this is worth pursuing or not.
You need to find out what your formula is, so when you’re testing ideas they will be a lot more likely to work out as long as they fit within that formula.

It’s also much harder to be successful because there are an infinite amount of reasons why an idea won’t work. You have no way to really know why something is failing until you try and test it out. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don’t.
You can never understand 100% of the market that you’re trying to reach or what they want. There are so many factors and variables that are changing all the time. You could be thinking of an idea that would do really well today, but completely fail in a month. Your idea won’t work forever.
When you have a formula, you just have to follow the right steps and there won’t be any guessing involved. This can make your life a lot easier, and it gives you something to follow when times are hard.
You can feel overwhelmed when you’re trying to figure out what your next step is. Instead of struggling with this feeling, make your life easier by having a plan that has some structure to it.
Every entrepreneur gets to this point at one point or another in their career where they feel like they need to take things more seriously or move on to something different.
