If You Want To Write For Us, We Need Your Medium Handle
Here’s how to find it.
Hello Writers!
Today’s QuickTip will be short and sweet. But first, a little backstory to let you know why I’m sharing this tip with you.
This one will make both you and me very happy.
Whenever I look through the list of people requesting to be added as writers at Age Of Empathy, I often see someone who has only entered their name into our submission form and not their Medium handle. Sometimes I’ll try to add the person with just this information and only one Medium Handle pops up. It’s obvious then who sent the request.
Today I tried to enter a name and 6 Medium Handles popped up. Same name, but 6 different handles — 6 different people. I had no idea who made the request, so I couldn’t add anyone.
It made me sad and I’d bet it made the requester frustrated because they didn’t get added as a writer.
So here’s how to find your Medium Handle to enter into our Writer Request form.

First, log into your Medium account and click on your icon in the upper right-hand corner.

A drop-down menu will appear. Click on ‘Profile’.

This will take you to your personal page. Here’s mine.

Now look at the address bar at the top of the screen. See where it says medium.com/@kaseysparks?

Your Medium Handle is the @ and the name directly after it. Copy and paste this into the Medium Handle field of the submission form. Depending on what browser you’re using, you may need to click on the address bar for your Medium Handle to appear.
You can also find your handle by clicking on your icon and then ‘Settings’.

The Username is also your Medium Handle.
There you have it! Super easy, right?
Warmly, kasey sparks
