How To Find Good Books, Keep Track Of Your Readings, And Get Inspired To Read More

When someone mentions this great book they’ve read and you make a mental note to look it up, but you end up forgetting…

I used to be that person and I probably missed out on a lot of great readings throughout the years. My problem was solved when I discovered Goodreads which is a social cataloging website although I prefer to call it a website for book lovers 😊.

What can you do on Goodreads?

You can quickly check out a book, the synopsis, reviews, ratings, etc, and add it to a “want to read” list. It will come in handy when you want to start a new book but have no inspiration.

You can join the annual reading challenge and track your progress. I took the 24 books per year challenge but you can be ambitious and go for the 48 one or more...

Like any other challenge, the reading one will help you stay motivated throughout the year, and for those of you who are competitive, knowing that you are reading more than your partner/friend/sibling might add to the satisfaction 😉.

You can add friends and be notified when they add a new book to their list or when they finished and rated the latest book they read.

You can connect Kindle to your Goodreads account so when you finish a book it will automatically add it to your yearly challenge list.

In case you were curious, here is my current Goodreads account. I “only” have 153 books on my “want to read” list which excludes this year’s list of 47 books. I guess I will have to double my challenge for the year…
