How to Fight the Big 5 & Hollywood

The little guy CAN win, but there’s a catch

I recently read a great article about holding the Big 5 and Hollywood studios to account for producing crap and using AI. It made me want to yell from the rooftops: Go, writer power!

However, that left the question: “Well… how?”

There IS a simple solution… go indie! Watch films by smaller studios. Scroll through the Foreword INDIES Awards, rather than looking for that Big 5 approval rubberstamped by Kirkus Reviews. I bet the average reader doesn’t know authors have to pay 500+ smackaroos to get reviewed by Kirkus. That prices out many indie authors, who can’t afford it.

Companies are investing in AI because they’re blinded by dollar signs, not listening to what consumers actually want.

Readers don’t want fake stuff. They want something real. Something imperfect. Something great.

It’s a reflection of who they see in the mirror, not what others think they should want to see.
