How To Face Loneliness and Make Friends

Learn what to do to stop living alone.

Loneliness is bitter, even if you are introverted and you accept it without complaint while you are busy with solitary activities.

Introverts like solitude, but up to a point. Nobody likes to live alone all their lives.

Extroverts cannot live without communicating with others, but they all feel alone when they don’t have a trusted person to talk to about everything that’s afflicting them, when they don’t have a love partner when their friendships are only superficial, and so on.

Even those with intense social lives feel basically alone because they cannot be honest with their group of (false) friends and cannot count on anyone for support.

With the telephone and the internet, we have countless possibilities for social interactions, but nothing can replace personal contact.

However, even when there is personal contact, if there is no openness, love, and true satisfaction among a group of people who meet regularly, loneliness does not go away.

Young people usually have many friendships because they have several classmates who become their friends. Young people have a more active social life than adults who work long hours and end up only interested in their own families, but this is not always the case. Many young people are despised and ridiculed or have communication difficulties.

Nowadays young people are very busy with several other lessons besides school, and despite being in contact with a lot of people, they don’t manage to have friends.

Elderly people feel more isolated because they often have various health problems and do not leave their homes.

Each person has a reason to feel lonely even if they live in contact with many people, especially those who live in a big city because everyone fears each other. Often they don’t even talk to their neighbors.

So, what is the solution to loneliness?

* Perhaps you can be helped if you try to participate in a group sport, or attend lectures and lessons for adults.

* Perhaps you would feel better if you learned to play a musical instrument to play it with a group of musicians, or if you participated in any activity that involved getting to know more people.

* Whenever you have this opportunity, be sure to talk to others. Lose the shame of being the first one who starts talking to someone else, even if it’s just to make a banal comment.

* Try to help someone who has a hard time doing anything you know how to do.

* Invite people you know to dinner, even if they are just your relatives.

* Participate in group trips organized by tour companies, and look for a variety of ways to get in touch with and talk to other people whenever possible.

If you don’t have the mood to do anything (which is very common), learn to translate the meaning of your dreams through the method discovered by Carl Jung. The unconscious mind that produces dreams works like a doctor and helps you understand your psychological problems and your mistakes until you change your attitude.

You not only will be able to make friends as well as find the love of your life without having to do anything besides interpreting the meaning of your dreams. The ideal person will appear in your life unexpectedly when you are ready to have the right attitude toward this person, who will surely make you very happy.

If you don’t have the disposition or the time to study the meaning of dreams, at least try to read books and articles on psychology whenever possible.

Try to do anything that can help you, otherwise, you won’t be able to feel better.

Don’t be indifferent to loneliness because it affects your mental health and your physical health. Make an effort to have at least one or two friends you can talk to and hang out with.

Don’t accept isolation with indifference because if you don’t do anything everything will be more painful, and if not even you are interested in your well-being, no one will help you.
