How To Do Mental Detox in 5 Steps
We know how to purify our bodies. But what about our minds?
Our thoughts need cleaning as much as our bodies. When we don’t clear our minds every day, we continue to keep the ideas we don’t need in our daily lives. Also, our memory is poisoning with various thoughts every day. I liken it to the trash we forget to pour.
Our thoughts, which we have accumulated for months or even years, appear in our lives, with deficiencies, selflessness, and various reasons. That is why we cannot initiate some kind of innovation in our lives.
In this article, I will explain how I clear my mind, which always feels exhausted in 5 steps.
Let everything flow
We can’t release anything in our lives, is that so? People, we are not happy with, things we don’t need, thoughts that bore us.
We are so tightly attached to everything that doesn’t feel good. Although we are not satisfied with our life, we choose to continue so that our habits don’t deteriorate. But things don’t work that way.
Every detail we cannot leave affects the quality of our lives. I know that when we break with something, the feeling of emptiness afterwards doesn’t feel good at all. But you can’t see the happiness of getting rid of a bond. So let it go.
Be open-minded
Sometimes I focus on a single point without thinking about an alternative on a subject. Then when I look at the issue from a langer window, I think of different solutions.
Being open-minded brings new ideas, and it makes my mind breathe. But when we think of something the same, we are missing inspiration and sources. So I leave the stuff that I got stuck where it is.
Then when it comes to my mind again, I find a different solution. If I stubbornly tried to solve my problem at that moment, I would probably sink even further. At this point, when I delayed the solution a little, I made it easier to handle.
Spend one week without complaining
Complaint detox is something we need to make part of our daily lives. It’s actually about trying to think positively. I know that complaining does not help change things. That’s why I pay attention to stay positive.
Even if there is something that bothers me, when I go out, I don’t let anything drop my mood. Of course, it doesn’t mean I never get angry; it only allows me to manage the influence of external factors on me. There is a little funny method that I use to deal with when I’m angry. I call it ‘’catching my mind on crime.’’ I take a breath and say to myself : ‘’ It wasn’t a big thing, I just want to get angry.’’
Make a list of what grateful for
We can find many things that we are grateful for in our lives. But nowadays, gratitude is a bit misunderstood. When we are thankful that we are satisfied with our lives, it feels like it doesn’t want more than we have.
First of all, when you thankful, you invite new resources to your life. Also, being grateful increases our happiness by reminding us of what we have right now. Understanding some of the inherent privileges we have allows us to ask some questions:
What innate rights do I have? What did I have with my effort?
Being grateful in light of these questions allows us to change our perspective on most things in our lives.
Say aloud what you did.
Everyone wants to see how it contributes to life. We often even criticize ourselves mercilessly. We have a sense of worthlessness with the thoughts that you are not doing anything. I think we should celebrate our little successes before we hurt ourselves over and over again.
Our little successes ( even if you can get out of bed that day) are essential. These small successes that show us how far we have progressed.
So, if you are doing sports every morning, you haven’t eaten that last piece of dessert, and you have finished your upcoming deadlines, celebrate it all. And tell yourself loudly about what you have accomplished.
Finally, What is in the past is in the past. The future is unknown. We only have right now. If we can bring our mind from where it is now, we can successfully apply these mental detox methods.
