“Adam!” His mother shouted.
“What?” She was always yelling at him.
“You never learnt that word from me or your father.”
“Uh?
“Well — what do you have to say for yourself, Adam?”
“What are you talking about, Mum?”
“Don’t use that tone of voice with me.”
“Mum — What did I do wrong?”
“You know. You used that word.”
“What word?”
She pursed her lips. “Don’t make me say it, Adam.”
“All I said was, “Yuck, this yoghurt is horrible.”
“Oh.” Her cheeks acquired a pink hue.
Turning to go, Adam grinned. He loved finding forbidden words in his fucking dictionary.
