And that’s what 99.24% of the Content Creators forget

I wanted in on that 0.76% action. And, let’s be real, it’s not about going all mad scientist or discovering the next big thing. Nope, it’s about putting in the work and I dove into the whole research gig.

Yeah, I know, research — the thing most folks wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole. But guess what? I did it.

And here are some different types of Headlines that I found and that are said to work the best.

So let’s get into it!

1. How to headlines

Well, no need to introduce this kind of Headline as you can find it everywhere here on Medium or wherever. It’s the DIY type of headline that will answer all the crazy questions that the audience has. And it works.

2. What headlines

I’ve done that and that’s What I’ve… headline. They usually bring us to a story about a before and after situation with the “what” being the rupture point. The reader is in the before situation and wants to get to the after situation and needs to know WHAT he has do to to achieve it. Easy right?

3. The Reasons Why

Then you have the list of reasons why model. For example, it could be the 100 reasons why I choose to write on Medium.

You don’t even need to use the “Reason Why”, it’s all about revealing a list of bullet points to make your point. What about “ 8 Ways to Sleep Better”?

4. Direct headlines

Direct headlines are straightforward to the heart of the matter. Sharp and simple. It could be Digital Marketing in 60 seconds.

These are not the only types of Headlines that work, but it’s a good start.

Crafting a good headline takes time.

Much more time than the majority of writers or creators usually allocate for it.

Some talk about the 50/50 rules in which we should spend the same amount of time in the headline as in the core of the text. Some talk about the 20/80 rule where 80 percent of the time is spent in your article. In any case, it shouldn’t be written on the fly.

There are so many things to be learned in this incredible world… so I’ll leave you to it and get back to my research!
