How to Build Your Scores of Private Victories and Increase Your Self-Confidence
It takes a healthy sense of confidence to live a fantastic life.

Psychologists have found out that self-confidence is linked to almost every element involved in a happy and fulfilling life.
Having a healthy sense of self-confidence helps you make choices and decisions that you will look back on and be glad you did.
Low self-confidence, on the other hand, tilts your life the other way where you end up with choices that are far below your actual worth. It is a path that many people have taken to a life deprived of happiness and fulfillment.
The truth is, without a healthy sense of self-confidence, it is impossible to have a balanced view of yourself. And when you don't have a balanced view of yourself, you will keep making choices that will make you more unhappy and less fulfilled with your life.
A Healthy Sense of Self Confidence Is Key To All-Round Success
It has long come to my understanding that our most important assets in living a good life are mental.
The reason is that the worth of every other physical asset you've got like an amazing physical look, born into a reputable home, working in an enviable company, is as determined by the condition of your mind and how you think.
You will always act your thinking and the condition of your mind. So as long as your thinking is that you are unworthy and undeserving of the best life can offer, you will keep leading a sub-normal life no matter how much you've got going for you in the physical world.
Truly as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Not as he has in his bank or anything else, but as he thinks in his heart.
In other words, we are what we believe we are and for that reason, our behaviors and attitudes to life will keep bringing us the experiences and persons to maintain that status quo.
The moment you reverse that self-sabotaging thinking, life takes a new turn. Such that even though you don't have everything yet, you are able to act and behave and think as though you already have everything you need. Which is pretty good.
For that reason, it becomes easy to connect with accomplished people, and your relationship with them will get you closer to achieving the physical equivalent of the reality in your mind.
We need a healthy sense of self-confidence to lead a healthy life.
Why People Lack Self Confidence
Nobody is born with low self-confidence; those who have it all acquired it. For me it was due to the environment I found myself in.
My father had low self-esteem. He influenced my immediate elder brother. And since I was the second son, and the closest guy to these two dudes, I couldn't help it - I contracted it.
Because of that, I struggled with making good partner choices - even as a medical student.
It was so bad that up until my last relationship, I haven't dated a medical student or even a nursing student. I didn't have the confidence to.
It is not because I don't want to or haven't seen anyone I have an affection towards, but because I don't see myself deserving of this caliber of persons as being my girlfriend.
For that reason, I kept regretting my choices of girlfriend and consistently break up with those girls after some months.
Eventually, I saw myself as being incapable of sustaining a romantic relationship and that thinking restrained me from attempting to ask any lady out for a date.
That's how bad low self-confidence can be.
Yours could be different. But one thing is sure, it was acquired. And one of the best ways to work yourself up is to build your scores of private victories.
How to Build Your Scores of Private Victories
Private victories are the building blocks of your personal confidence.
Public victories are good, but not as strong and solid as private victories. Reason being that public victories are most often take root from people's opinion. Until they acknowledge your achievements, you don't feel the sense of self-confidence.
This is quite unlike private victories where each time you look inwards, you see how much you have going. Here it is just you and you alone. The store of self-confidence is directly within your control and you can draw from it anytime.
The accurate measure of your self-confidence is in the scores of your private victories.
In building your private victories all you need is to find a project, work or hobby with the right amount of challenge.
Set goals to measure your progress. Because goals are your referee. They tell you whether you win. If you hit your target, you win and if you don't you lose.
Every day set goals to be achieved. Titrate your daily to your increasing ability to handle the challenges. As you become capable of achieving a certain level of challenge, increase it a little the next day.
The aim is to help you feel a sense of accomplishment. That is how you build confidence. As confidence builds from each challenge you overcome.
Building confidence means taking small steps that leave a lasting sense of accomplishment.
Conclusion
Your sense of self-confidence is more important than you think.
It is linked to almost every element involved in a happy and fulfilling life. A happy and fulfilled life is more about your level of self-confidence more than any other single factor.
Again, your odds of success in life increase as your self-confidence increases. This is because, with self-confidence, it is easy to face challenges, get up when you fail, and continue in the pursuit of your dreams with a new and better perspective.
