How To Build Royal Habits Within 41 days?

Initially, I considered titling this article “How to get rid of bad habits.” However, after some thought, I decided against it. If we don’t need something, we shouldn’t focus on it. So, I chose the current headline. This article serves as food for thought on developing new habits. To discuss this topic, we must delve into some important fundamentals.

HABITUAL HOME First, let’s consider the concept of habit. Have you ever observed native elephants walking obediently alongside their mahout (keeper)? They are incredibly polite and obedient to their boss. Whatever the mahout commands, the elephant dutifully follows.

But, do you know how these same elephants behaved when they were first captured? They were powerful and far from the obedient animals we see now. It takes months of continuous and rigorous training to break their habit of the forest. By the end of this training, they transform into entirely new creatures and become friends with humans. This transformation is all due to the power of training.

Now, let’s get to the main point. People attempting to rid themselves of bad habits must learn from this lesson. The mind requires continuous training to break free from any bad habits. It demands persistent effort because the mind has been the habitual home of these habits for many years. We don’t know how long the mind has been immersed in these habits, so we can’t expect to eliminate them in a single day.

Therefore, one must create challenges to overcome these habits.

CHALLENGES According to Ancient Indian Scriptures, practicing anything for 41 days will make it a habit. For instance, if you stop smoking for 41 days, the urge to smoke will decrease. I won’t claim the habit will vanish completely, but its strength will diminish, I’m sure.

So, two crucial points to remember: to break any habit, you need consistent practice. If you stumble multiple times, don’t worry, start again. Next, challenge yourself. Set 41-day challenges. Gradually, you can develop new habits or let go of old bad ones.

Best of luck!
