How to stop a bad habit (nail biting )

I think many of them have this habit of nail-biting including me in this article I am going to share my secret to break this bad habit in my case is nail-biting that secret also helps to break some other unwanted habits in your life I just take an example for nail-biting you can remove or brake small bad habits like drinking too much of coffee and using too much of social media and etc.
Why I take nail-biting as an example because it was familiar to me and I share the same secret with my friends those who have the same habit all are breaking the habit now so I share the secret with you by using this wonderful platform Medium firstly we need to know what is a habit then how it’s work
What is a habit
Settled for the regular tendency for practice especially one that is hard to give up” this is the definition for habit this is not I am going to tell you I tell my point of you or my thought about habit
“habit is something that you do almost without thinking”
When you do something automatic or without distraction or without thinking is a habit,t habits never ask permission from your brain it starts work automatically it is one of that body futures because it reduces the time to done work or saves our body energy.
When we do repeat work it becomes a habit this is how it works by understanding this process we can stop a bad habit or develop new good habits I hope you understand this
How to stop or break a habit
In my case nail-biting is a problem when I was a child I start to bite all hand nail fingers when the nail is completed I go to my leg fingers one time my mother hit me on my head and said don’t by nice after few months I never bite due to fear of my mother after few months I cant able to buy my leg nails it’s too difficult for me at the same time my and nails are gone because whenever I see a movie or listen to any interesting story or do deep thinking that time automatically nails come to my mouth I start to bite automatically I can’t able to control until my age twenty then I decided to stop this habit and I do some research about nail biting that time I realize many people affected by this problem in my surrounding circle many of them have this terrible habits I can’t get a suggestion to recover the problem cause many of them affected by the same problem so I do research read and watch many books and videos about habits then I found how the habits work how to break that.

Inhabit chain, there are three stages first one is trigger second one responds and the third one is the reward
1)Trigger
2)Response
3)Reward
It is the process as well as the good and bad habits in good habit process is very difficult to do but bad habits it’s effortless, so bad habits are very quickly to catch up our brain, so we simply addicted to some bad habits
When I know this I decided to stop triggering off my nail-biting habit so I cut my nail up to me finger flesh so I can’t bite that at the same time I use transparent nail polish because it has a bad smell when I put a finger near to my mouth that time that bad smell will move the fingers to my mouth immediately this is how I stop triggering when the first processes did not happen automatically next process does not happen in my case
You can also stop triggering your habit you can able to stop your bad habits like me for example if you drink too much coffee first you find which one is the trigger of your habit for example coffee smell or when your friends drink coffee in front of you that time you tried to avoid them are avoid the place
When you got the urge to drink coffee that time you order Apple juice or any other liquid item that is the alternate way of avoiding coffee and think about what are the disadvantages are bad things happened by doing the bad habit in my case I was bitten nail it was cause many health issues like diarrhoea fever cold and extra so I think about the disadvantages of that habit this thinking it helps to avoid the habit this is the secret has worked for me it also works for you.
