Use Subscribers: A Clever Medium Strategy
So, you’re new to Medium, and your list of subscribers is growing daily. Well done to you! Go ahead, dance, and shout ‘Yahoo hoo’…
BUT …For some reason, some of my older stories weren’t sent to subscribers. You can quickly check this. Here’s how:
- Select your profile picture.
- Choose ‘Stories.’
- Scroll to one of your oldest stories.
- Click the three dots.
- Select ‘Email to Subscribers.’
Keep in mind that Medium only allows you to send once to subscribers. So, if it’s been sent already, it won’t let you do it again.
I’m unsure why some didn’t go to subscribers, but I found a few that slipped through the cracks.”

If it has not already been emailed, this box will appear. Just press send, and that’s it.

If it already has been emailed. A red error message will appear. So do not worry; you will only send the same post once!
CAUTION
Don’t drown them in a sea of content. Who wants to open their inbox to find a whopping ten posts waiting?
One post a day is more than enough, alongside your regular posts!
Remember, nobody’s signing up for a marathon reading session!
I did this to one of my earliest posts yesterday. The article was sitting there with its lonely self, no friend, no hope, just peering out at the articles that had come afterwards and were being given all the love.
But just because it is old does not mean it is cold.
I gave it a new lease of life, I let it fly. I pressed send to all my subscribers. And yes, dear friends, many of them came to read it!
Ps. I’ve amassed quite the following since my humble beginnings. Thank you all for your support!

Please note:
- If you published a metered story through the Partner Program, you will not be paid for any time spent reading the preview of the story in the email.
- Emailing your story to your subscribers will restrict some edit features after publishing, such as resizing images or embedding and unfurling new links in the story.
