How to Become a Millionaire? Psychologists Provide Answers (part I)
They are a group of psychologists who approach the question of ‘How to Become a Millionaire?’ with a different perspective.

When we look at the lives of successful and financially wealthy people, many of our talents and capabilities are comparable to, or perhaps even greater than theirs. Undoubtedly, there are individuals more intelligent than Bill Gates or Steve Jobs in this world, and they may also have their own businesses, but they are not as successful as them.
Psychologists believe that the difference between successful and unsuccessful people lies in their mindset toward the world and their ventures. The bulk of this article is based on the writings of Dr. Elizabeth Lawrence from the University of North Carolina and Dr. Richard Rogers from Colorado State University.
Psychologists’ Response to the Question “How to Become a Millionaire?”
1- Mind Versus Economy

Dr. Elizabeth Lawrence believes that the primary focus for an individual should be on the difference in mindset and perspective between successful and unsuccessful individuals, rather than solely on economic and business matters. While the value of commercial and economic affairs should not be disregarded, they are essential tools in the hands of an individual who manages them with their mindset.
2- Stay Grounded Some people abandon that and move on to something else as soon as they start something and earn a little income. Dr. Lawrence shares a motivating story about a friend of hers who, back when he was young, decided to make money by collecting recyclable trash. At first, his friends and family weren’t supportive, but he stuck with it. Now, he’s a wealthy guy, owning the biggest recycling center in the state. One day, he told Dr. Lawrence:
“Looking around, I saw some supermarket owners making big bucks while others weren’t. Same deal with restaurants. But then, I noticed something. In every line of work, you’ve got both successful and not-so-successful folks. So, I figured, it’s not really about the job you pick. It’s about the path you take. You can start with something super simple and turn it into a real success.”
3- Have Expertise While we say that the type of work isn’t necessarily crucial, you still need to choose a job where you have expertise or at least familiarity. For instance, someone whose father is a farmer might excel more in the fruit distribution field than in IT. This expertise can be gained through education or experience.
4- Get to Work! We’ve seen many people constantly searching the internet for starting a business, and even after years, they’re still in search! The important point is that ultimately, you need to choose an idea and get started. Work, not search!
5- Correct Your Mistakes

In today’s business world, only one thing matters: statistics. You must monitor all inputs and outputs of your work and if you notice any weaknesses in any part of the system, analyze and repair them. Dr. Richard Rogers from Colorado State University gives an interesting example in this regard:
“There used to be a café near our house where I used to stop by every day on my way back from work and relax a bit. The café was about 200 meters away from the main road and was hardly visible. That’s why travelers passing by didn’t notice it. One day I asked the café owner why he didn’t put up a sign here, and he replied that he didn’t think any new customers would come here because everyone knows me here. But eventually, I persuaded him to do it. In one of the summer months when many travelers came to the city, he saw me and said that his income had multiplied several times by putting up that big sign.”
