How to Be Successful On OnlyFans Even If You're Not Bella Thorne
I made an OnlyFans account for a week and made $$$

While at the vaccination center, my friend sends me a private message on Messenger, after all the pleasantries, asks me if I want to make money online, like $10,000 a month.
Who wouldn’t want that kind of money?
And my mind drifted to how much money I made this month as a writer, it was $71.16, and it is my biggest from where I started, which was 7 cents, and to be honest, my heart is full of gratitude.
But I know my friend, there must a joke somewhere, and later he mentions a familiar name, who he said earns more than $10,000 a month, and my friend says he earns it from OnlyFans.
The one thing I can’t tell my friend is that I am on OnlyFans too.
I wrote about OnlyFans a while back. It was about Michelle Hardenbrook.
One Gilf who is making money is Michelle Hardenbrook. She charges $12.99 for each subscriber and she has 3,000 subscribers already. If you do the math, with OnlyFans getting 20% of the subscription fee. She still makes $30,000 a month.
If you Google, What is Gilf?
Her name comes up, Gilf — which means Grandmother I’d Like to F*ck or Milf but older. She has carved her own niche on OnlyFans, as the dominatrix granny.
OnlyFans is what The New York Times calls it, the paywall of porn.
What is OnlyFans, and what makes it so great?
One of the things that I love about OnlyFans is that it’s a way for people to feel like they can be a part of my life. It’s a way for my fans to see a side of me that they don’t get to see on social media.
Recently though, there have been some points where I’ve felt like I’m unreasonably nosy about their lives.
There might be a part of me that feels this, but recognizing that it is an unnecessary drama and trying to steer away from my use of OnlyFans.
To the unfamiliar, OnlyFans is the YouTube of the creator economy or a social media platform where followers pay a subscription fee to watch and read your posts. What you say on your posts and what you do on pictures and videos is up to you as a content creator.
Take the case of Disney actress Bella Thorne, who her critics accuse of digital gentrification.
By joining OnlyFans and having misrepresented her content, it hurt many creators, especially the most vulnerable, because of the changes that came after her stunt, which I personally find revolting.
Bella Thorne set a new OnlyFans record when she earned over $1 million within 24 hours of joining the platform in August 2020 and more than $2 million in less than a week.
She claims she champions sex workers, but it is highly doubtful, her publicity stunt disgraceful and constituted fraud.
Bella Thorne isn't the only artist/influencers on OnlyFans. Other celebs and influencers who have launched OnlyFans pages include Cardi B, Jordyn Woods, Blac Chyna, Trey Songz, Amber Rose, and Tana Mongeau.
Bella Thorne’s infamous OnlyFans record is now broken by another controversial artist, 18-year-old rapper Bhad Bhabie, a.k.a. Danielle Bregoli, who earned $1 million in six hours on OnlyFans.
Bhad Bhabie is charging $23.99 per month for access to photos and videos on her OnlyFans page. Subscribers also are promised the ability to “direct message with this user.” — Variety
“Not bad for 6 hours,” she wrote. “We broke the fuck out of that onlyfans record.” — Bhad Bhabie
Just imagine the success these mainstream artists are having on OnlyFans. The problem with it is OnlyFans was built from the ground by women who have far less than Bella Thorne and Bhad Bhabie.
But the whimsical attitude of these two women has hurt the very women who need protection as most of them are on OnlyFans only because they are women in desperate need of extra cash.
Unlike big celebrities like Bella and Bhad, they will not be successful in terms of the money they can earn from the social network of adult entertainment.
5 Steps for getting started on OnlyFans
1. CREATE AN ACCOUNT
It’s free and easy to create an OnlyFans account, and there’s no contract for you or your subscribers.
If you’ve reached a point where you have a substantial fanbase and great engagement, it’s time to make the transition and invite your fans to experience exclusive content on your OnlyFans channel.
Deciding to launch on OnlyFans is a simple decision.
It gives you more scope to create great content, enhances the content experience for your fans, and you get paid for it. Except for YouTube, which is downgrading your earning potential, there is no way to monetize your content on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook other than through your brand associations and campaigns.
With OnlyFans, you get to create more of what your fans love, and they pay a modest subscription to view subscriber-only content. It’s a win-win.

2. SETTING YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RATE
What makes OnlyFans so lucrative is a combination of your subscriber numbers and your subscription rate.
To put you in complete control, you decide how much to charge your fans for a subscription, so set a rate that you think is fair, reasonable, and affordable for your audience.
Typically around 1%-3% of your fans will subscribe. For example, if you have 10,000 fans on Instagram, you will expect to attract around 100–150 subscribers (based on a 1.5% conversion).
It’s better to have 150 subscribers at $6.99 than 50 subscribers at $9.99, so make sure your rate attracts subscribers and does not deter them. The more you attract, the more you earn, so be realistic and don’t overprice.
Remember, your fans are gravitating from free-to-view platforms to a paid subscription, so make a good judgment based on the quality of content they will receive on your OnlyFans platform and how much they are likely to pay.

3. PROMOTE YOUR ONLYFANS PROFILE
The most effective way to promote your OnlyFans account is in your social media profiles and biogs and through your content.
So, if you are publishing images of a new photoshoot, fashion collection, workout routine, or makeup tutorial, add your OnlyFans account link to your content and invite your fans to see more by subscribing to your OnlyFans channel.
The more you promote it, and the more you work at it, the more subscribers you’ll get. As your content on most platforms is free, you need to strike a balance, so don’t hard sell it but frequently invite people to join you and enjoy an exclusive experience with you on OnlyFans.
4. PLAN YOUR ONLYFANS CONTENT
It’s important to remember that your subscribers will come from your mainstream social media platforms. They are most likely to stay connected to you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social platforms.
If they feel like they’re getting more of the same, only they’re now paying for it can cause issues that you don’t want or need.
Launching on OnlyFans is all about extending the content experience, doing exclusive subscriber-only content, and adding more depth and variety that they are happy to pay for.
For example, if you’re a fitness blogger, you can do snapshots or short routines on Instagram and Facebook. Still, on OnlyFans, you can give them a more detailed workout program and exclusive routines not published on Instagram or Facebook.
You’ve amassed a loyal fanbase because your fans love what you do already, so there doesn’t need to be a dramatic shift in your style or type of content — offer more value, more insight, and more depth on OnlyFans.
Creating a plan for your OnlyFans channel that syncs with your mainstream content plan is important to ensure quality and consistency across your social publishing landscape.

5. RETAINING YOUR FANS ~ CONTENT IS KING
Ultimately fans want your content, so give the fans what they want.
Video is a key format and the general direction of travel for pretty much every social platform. Yet, Instagram and Twitter have time limitations that can only offer fans a snapshot of your content.
If you’re a beauty blogger or fitness influencer, for example, and/or are providing tutorials and educational content, you can offer extended content and more in-depth tutorials on OnlyFans with up to 3GB upload capability for a single video, and up to 20 images per post.
So, use your mainstream platforms to tempt fans to experience the full video or photoshoot on your OnlyFans platforms as that’s where the value lies; you give subscribers more than they can experience on free-to-view platforms they get a lot more for a modest subscription to your channel.
Retaining fans and ensuring you grow your subscriber base really comes down to giving people value for money. As long as they feel they get a great content experience at a fair price, there’s really no need for them to leave.

The benefits of joining OnlyFans
If you’re a person who’s interested in building a personal brand or business, then I’d say it’s definitely worth it.
OnlyFans gives you access to your fans, allows you to communicate with them, and it’s a great way to get to know them. I’m not saying building an Only Fans account is easy, as there are numerous steps involved. And, obviously, there are a million and one questions you have to answer while creating it.
The only thing I can say for certain is that it did take me several hours, and regarding the looks of my fan page, it may still leave something to be desired.
If you go for it, I will encourage you to do your research before making your decision. The best advice I can offer you is to ignore everything else and do it. You won’t regret it, and anybody telling you otherwise will just be mistaken.
Let’s see how it works!
How to make money on OnlyFans
The way I make money on OnlyFans is by offering a 3-month subscription for $100. This $100 gets you access to exclusive photos and videos every month.
These are photos and videos that you won’t find anywhere else.
Obviously, this model is a niche, which means that only a small percentage of my viewers will actually see these videos. You can see what your fans are actually watching on the OnlyFans metrics below.
However, I believe that niche is a great fit for this type of content because it helps deliver a consistent value and engages my subscriber base.
This is because the most passionate fans are willing to pay for access to high-quality and readily available content. This is exactly what the $100 3-month OnlyFans subscription provides.
These new subscribers will view my content on whatever devices they have access to laptops, smartphones, and tablets. I have found that people looking to watch these videos tend to be highly targeted and engaged.
I can already see these people tuning in at least once a day to find out more about what I have to say.
Now, as long as you don’t mind a niche approach to monetization, I see this as a way to bring in consistent revenue to invest in my future content.
The overall OnlyFans engagement is much higher than my Facebook fan page, which I never expected.
How to Be Successful On OnlyFans Even If You’re Not Bella Thorne or Bhad Bhabie will depend on your content. OnlyFans, as of 2021, has paid out US$725 million to its 450,000 content creators.
To stand out on any social media platform, free or paid, content is king. But OnlyFans isn’t for everyone, while nothing stops anyone from posting content that isn’t considered adult entertainment.
The majority of its subscribers belong to a different demographic. And as a woman, especially young women, who are not celebrities, it will take a lot of gut and courage to pursue a career as a content creator on OnlyFans.
Success isn't measured by money alone, in dollars and cents. Success is also what you become after the money has come your way.
Disclaimer: This is a fictional account of my persona who has been thinking of starting her own OnlyFans channel. As a writer, I am happy with what I earn from writing stories.
