How To Automate Instagram Posting
Increase engagement on Instagram by automating your IG posts. Scheduling Instagram photos helps you build consistency and recognition.
When starting a new business it’s easy to get excited and start out with good habits. It’s easy to remember to post on Instagram several times a day. However, during a busy week, the thought of posting can slip your mind, and before you know it, a week (or 20) has past since your last post. With Instagram, consistency is key.
Fortunately, it’s possible to automate posting within Instagram. No need for expensive 3rd party apps or complex instructions. I will walk you through how to automate instagram posts in just 30 seconds.
Before we get started there is one prerequisite:
You must have an instagram business account!
There are many advantages to having a business account including access to advanced analytics. But probably our favorite advantage is the ability to schedule posts. So, if you are not currently using a business instagram page for your business, we highly encourage making the switch.
Alright, lets get started..
Steps
- Click the ＋ in the top right corner of your Account page and add a new Post like you normally would. After selecting the photo and adding the description, scroll to the bottom and click “Advanced settings”
2. Within Advanced Settings toggle the button next to “Schedule this post” then select the day and time you would like your post to go live before clicking “Set time”
3. Confirm everything looks good before clicking the back arrow to return to the Post screen
4. From there just hit “Schedule” and you’re good to go! Confirm by watching for the confirmation pop-up

Our strategy
Rather than trying to remember to post during a busy day, you can front-load your work and do a little prep. Choose a day when you have some free time and set aside 15-30 minutes to schedule your posts. We recommend scheduling for the next 7 days so you can build a regular habit of posting. You can set it and forget it until the same time the following week.
