How to Attract Abundance in Your Life
This is how I attract abundance and you can too
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the word “abundance”?
Is it a person in yoga pants sitting on a mat stretching his arms? Do you think of those stock images with extremely happy people jogging in a park? Or does your imagination take you automatically to piles of money and a mansion?
The truth is, abundance can mean all of this and much more. It can be anything that you want it to be.
In the simplest of terms, being abundant means having a wholesome life. An existence that brings you joy. A feeling of fulfilment, not only financially, but also emotionally and physically.
The idea of abundance is rooted in ancient human history. Followers of Buddhism, for example, prioritize the pursuit of abundance over all other life goals.
The look on your face tells me that you have bought into the idea. Why wouldn’t you, anyway? It sure sounds like a ticket to living your best life. And who, in their right state of mind, wouldn’t want that?
Unfortunately, though, it is seldom that things as influential as abundance would come in one fell swoop. If you thought of it as a short cut, lets clear that misunderstanding right away.
Like all good things in life, creating abundance requires consistency, commitment, and dedication. The key to attracting abundance is a constant effort to generate a positive and grounded mindset.
Because that’s what abundance is; a thought process — a conscious way of living.
The good news is that it’s a learned skill. If you are willing to put in your time and effort, you can manifest abundance in all three realms (financial, physical, and emotional) of your life.
Let’s Start With Financial Abundance
Your journey to financial abundance starts with feeling grateful for what you already have, regardless of how little it may be. It’s about training your mind to already be thankful for the abundance you are envisioning.
When focusing on attracting money, you must not take your current finances for granted. Abundance requires you to operate from a place of fulfilment, rather than a place of lacking. Personally, I think of it as just another manifestation of the law of attraction.
If consciously or subconsciously, you are focused on the lack of money, you’re psychologically creating hurdles for yourself to attract it. Once you learn to practice gratitude for what you have, your thoughts will start to translate into abundance and prosperity.
It’s okay, go ahead and ask me, “How”?
From experience, I’ve learned that once I start to be grateful for the money I have, I learn to see the value in it. Once I see the value, it is that much easier for me to take tangible steps for its effective management.
In my pursuit of financial abundance, I made a habit of taking a moment before making every transaction and asking myself if it aligns with my vision. It is about detaching yourself from the love of things that do not serve your purpose.
The next time you are about to buy that third summer top, I want you to question if two can suffice? The surge of empowerment will be surreal as you decide to get by with only two, and realize that it doesn’t affect your life in any palpable manner.
While it sounds simple enough, though, the bad news is that it isn’t as convenient as it seems.
The Answer Lies in Practice
Your mind is addicted to negativity. So, brace yourself for intense retaliation as you try to cut it off its drug. There is not a switch in the world that can shift your entire perspective to gratitude and conscious decisions, just like that.
The good news, however, is that it’s all about practice. As a matter of fact, once I got into the zone, my mind would effortlessly strategize to create financial abundance. It was no longer ignorant of saving and prioritizing expenditures.
For the time first time in my life, it made me explore investment opportunities to maximize the value of the money that I already had. It opened my eyes to see and seize the opportunities to make some extra cash.
In all honesty, it was the pursuit of abundance that landed me in the freelance market. A move that laid the foundation for the financial freedom I have today.
I understand that financial abundance is exciting. But you can’t experience true abundance if you don’t fan out its wings over the desire to create wealth.
Learn to Differentiate Between Money and Wealth
Money and wealth are often treated as synonyms. Our idea of wealth usually revolves around finances only. But once abundance comes knocking on your door, you’ll realize that being wealthy goes way beyond the banknotes. Wealth comes in the form of physical health, psychological and emotional wellbeing, thriving relationships, and even knowledge.
When it comes to creating wealth, “YOU”, my friend, will be your greatest enemy. The challenge here is not to tune out the people who find it entertaining to constantly doubt your potential. What’s excruciating is silencing “YOUR OWN” inner voice that doesn’t see the value in your effort. It will keep reminding you of the futility of your hard work.
When I was a sophomore, and in the process of attracting abundance, I wanted to transform myself physically into the best version of my body. Since I had never been a physical person, the thought was intimidating.
But what I found useful in letting go of my limiting beliefs, was breaking my goal down into smaller objectives. Instead of telling myself up front that I wanted to look like Jason Statham, I set a simpler aim that I’ll go to the gym at least four times this week.
The outcome? All of a sudden, it didn’t sound so futile anymore.
Point being, to create abundance or attract wealth, you need to divorce the limiting beliefs. Be it the ones you cooked up inside your head, or the ones being thrown at you from other people.
Cure the Disease, Not the Symptom
What’s even crucial is to always look deeper into what is it that is fueling your limiting belief. For instance, I struggled with anxiety when I was in high school. Naturally, my very first relationship ended up in a disaster and left a prominent mark of emotional trauma.
If I’m being honest, the thought that I’m incapable or maybe even not deserving of a stable, healthy relationship still sometimes echoes in my head. Under such circumstances, do you think it would work if I focus entirely on the limiting belief, and remind myself constantly that I can, indeed, find stability in a relationship? Unlikely, I’d say.
So, what I did, instead, was that I confronted what was causing my relationships to fall apart in the first place. This included communicating it to my partner that I struggle with anxiety at times. Together, we devised a regime of breathing exercises, meditation, and yoga that helps me keep my anxiety under control.
The outcome? We’ll be celebrating our two-year anniversary this September. It’s the longest, the healthiest, and the most fulfilling relationship that I have had in my life.
Say No to Perfectionism
In order to attract abundance, you need to relinquish the idea of “perfectionism”. It is only then that you’ll be able to identify an underlying problem that is standing in your way of creating wealth.
Once you are no longer obsessed with perfectionism, you’ll learn to deal with the principal cause of your limiting belief, and talk about it without jeopardizing your self-worth.
You’ll find it amusing, perhaps, that to protect my image of “SELF”, I resort to entitlement. Yes, even entitlement works in your favor if applied carefully.
In the process of excavating whatever it is that’s fueling self-doubt, the threat to your self-worth is real. Of course, a note to self that your past failures are hindering your present progress can just as easily translate to a sense of worthlessness.
That is counterproductive to your goal of creating abundance as it disrupts the “wholesome experience”.
But I succeed in blocking this plunge with positive affirmations.
Be Your Own Cheerleader
It is essential to realize that something is better than nothing. A tiny effort in fixing the cause of your limiting beliefs is better than no effort at all. Attracting abundance requires you to be your own cheerleader.
So, I remind myself that by the very fact that I have set an intention to better myself, I am worthy of love and happiness. With positive affirmations and applaud, I entitle myself as better than anyone who chooses to live in the delusion of perfection that never liberates them from their limiting beliefs.
In a way, it helps me sustain a sense of satisfaction during the process of investing conscious efforts into unfettering myself from my limiting beliefs. Isn’t that what abundance is all about? A sense of fulfillment? An ability to be content with the things the way they are?
