Opinions
Like each of you, there are days when life deals me a knock-out punch.
When the wind gets knocked out of me, sometimes I cannot immediately rise up…
But one day on my way to the bathroom, I catch sight of myself in the mirror and I give myself “the talk”.
I remind myself that I am loved, strong, blessed, and cannot wallow in self-pity.
I tell myself, “Stand on your feet soldier, and put one foot in front of the other.”
That usually gets me moving.
I was inspired to write this after reading Dr. Preeti Singh’s story of her dear friend.
Here is a perfect example of a woman who has faced many challenges in life and very recently home from having a heart attack but is mindful enough to want her friends to feel at ease.
Our ability to feel gratitude is based on how we view the world and our circumstances.
If we can objectively see ourselves and circumstances in relation to those of other people, we will see that we ALWAYS have a need to express gratitude.
The earth is being challenged in untold ways within the past 20 months.
Some have lost all their family, and each of us has lost someone/something dear to us.
We are being tested and put through the fire. But we have proven to be stronger than any adversity that life can throw at us.
We will emerge from this smelting as our truest selves yet.
Do not be discouraged, rise up and continue to stay the course.
Find your strength in any way you can, lean on your support pillar and stand your ground.
You are so much stronger than you think, and life cannot break you without your permission.
Yes, there are moments when you will get the winds knocked out of your sails. Days when you feel you cannot rise from your bed, a time when you feel you cannot take another step.
But pull yourself up, YOU have the power within, hold on for dear life and place one foot in front of the other.
Step out in faith…
Just keep moving and before long you will find yourself running forward.
“We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.
No matter what life throws your way, know that somewhere someone has it way worse.
Be thankful for your health, for life, for friends, and even for adversities — they command us to pull strength from reserves we did not know we had, resulting in growth.
We are fed, employed, have homes, families and we are alive!
Though life is embedded with unavoidable sadness and loss, if the universe woke you up this morning, be joyful and give thanks.
In thanksgiving, you see your cup as full rather than empty.
Remember… you are stronger than you know!
You — got — this!
Choose to be kind!
