How These 5 Famous Quotes Can Change Your Life
Discover how these 5 famous quotes can inspire and guide you on your journey to a happier and more fulfilling life.

There’s power in a good quote. I enjoy finding quotes that will provide me with some inspiration and a snapshot into the thought process of some of history’s greats. So much can be learned from others and how they view the world. I picked out these five quotes because I believe they all do an amazing job of inspiring and uplifting.
1. “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” — Arthur Ashe, American tennis player.
I love this quote because it is so true and can be applicable to everyone. We all are in different stages of our lives and have been blessed with unique gifts and life situations. What we all can do, however, is start where we are. It sounds simple enough, but not everyone believes or follows this train of thought. It can be all too easy to feel sorry for ourselves or disappointed with the circumstances we were born into. We wish we could have been born as a trust-fund child or in a more advantageous position. We can’t control that, though, but what we can control is what we do going forward. We can write our own life story and use what we have been given to make the best of the one life we have.

2. “You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.” — Stephen King, author.
This quote is inspirational because it calls us to act. We all know we should do something, but what separates the greats from the rest is that they act on that fact and they get things done. They know no one will act for them or do the required hard work. They strap on their boots and get to work. We all have the ability to act on the things we want to accomplish in life. So, go out there and make a difference. Don’t spend too much time in the thought phase. Put those thoughts into action, and those actions can change your life.

3. “For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson, author.
I enjoy this quote because it always reminds me of the pointlessness of staying angry. All of us prefer to be in a positive mood, but we can quickly spiral into a cloud of anger if things don’t go our way. This doesn’t do anything but take away from our happiness and drain us of our energy. No good comes from wallowing in anger. Instead, we can reframe our mindset and find the good in life. There will be things that upset us, but there is no benefit to allowing them to fester. Instead, overcome your initial reaction and realize that a state of happiness is more advantageous to our mental health and enjoyment of life.

4. “If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.” — Jen Sincero, author.
This is another great quote that is all about acting. We have the power to put our wants into action and build the life we dream of. There may be numerous obstacles we must overcome, but we can find a way. This quote is a good inspiration when I feel like I’m not going anywhere in life. It reminds me that I am capable of finding a way to change what I have been doing to make progress toward my ultimate goal. Excuses are just distractions and useless in the pursuit of our goals.

5. “The most beautiful and profound way to change yourself is to accept yourself completely, as imperfect as you are.” — Maxime Lagacé, Canadian hockey player.
I find this quote inspiring and honest. There is no denying that we all have flaws, but we have the power to choose how we view them. This quote reminds me that it’s okay to accept my imperfections and I should be confident in the person that I am. Even the greatest people in the world can find many flaws in themselves. It’s essential to accept ourselves to be in a healthy mindset. There’s no point in being frustrated with things we can’t change; there’s beauty in embracing our imperfections.
These five quotes can profoundly affect how we approach life and view the world. So, take a lesson from each of these individuals and shift your mindset into one built for success. We all hold great power to make a difference in this world. Go out there and make things happen!
