How The Rains Bring A Sense Of Rebirth And Renewal For All Living Beings

Nature collab with Yana Bostongirl and B.R. Shenoy 💚

Rainy days..

We are in the middle of the rainy season here in Colombia. I have to admit; I love rain. I had always enjoyed the change of the seasons when I lived in the US. Spring, in particular, is my favorite time of the year.

The main reason is that it is the time that it seems to rain the most, and if it includes a thunderstorm with lightning, I am even happier. It reminds me of when I was a child, sitting on my bedroom floor with the window open and watching the lightning dance across the sky, followed by the low rumble of thunder.

I would stay up all night watching and listening.

Here we have the same; the other morning, it thundered for two hours straight; I just lay awake listening, saying to my boyfriend, “escuchas el trueno,”? He says “si,” as he is half-asleep.

As I type this, the thunder rumbles; is nature hearing my thoughts. We live on top of a mountain, so all I see are mountains full of clouds when I look around.

This morning, it was raining as I took this!

The lush green trees are caressed with the energy of the rain. The leaves are a brilliant green, a green so pure, and it makes me wonder, is this real?

The rain has always made me think of rebirth, a cleansing.

Everything that was here yesterday washed away, except the things that matter. The core values will never disappear, yet reinforced and reevaluated. The essentials remain rooted within the earth and me.

The earth is allowed to shed some of the things that are no longer needed.

Do we as humans ever get the chance to cleanse ourselves and reevaluate what is truly needed as the earth receives the rain?

Sometimes we too have a piece of us so deeply rooted, but are they always needed?

Are they the parts that help you breathe, or do you think they help you live?

I planted these from seed, now they are beautiful flowers!

Are they part of the roots essential for survival, or is it just a story that you tell yourself you need them?

Are they the collateral veins, the small ones that you are trying to get to grow, but you have not given them enough water yet?

Will these roots stay when the time gets hard? Will these roots become a part of your core values and ethics?

The other day a plantain tree fell over because the winds were so strong. I noticed it toppled over, and I dug another hole and replanted the tree.

You can not even tell which tree fell, they are all standing tall!!

When you fall, can you get back up alone, or do you need help?

Do you admit when you need help?

My tree could not lift itself; it generously allowed me to assist. Yet once the tree was affixed into her place, she again stands tall. When you receive help, do you see it as a weakness and bend over slightly in a feeling of defeat that you could not lift yourself on your own.

Or did you accept the help graciously, say thank you, and continue to stand tall, knowing that you will eventually grow those tiny roots more profound into your life if you do not give up on yourself.

Accept that failure happens, and we all fall. The sky allows the rain to fall not of defeat but as a chance to bring rebirth and renewal to those that need it. To enable the flowers to grow bigger, allow the fruits to grow to eventually nourish those who need them.

The circle of life will continue, the sun will shine, the rains will fall, and what is no longer serving her will be cleansed. The old leaves will fall and allow new growth.

Like you, my dear reader, you too will have failures and have to let the old go, that which no longer serves you, allow it to fall off so you too can develop new roots to what is.

Allow others to help you when you need it, do not feel ashamed that it is ok to ask for help. Do not shrink in defeat, yet stand up proud that you dared to get back up. Stand tall like my plantain tree, enjoying the rain to help her roots go deeper.

The rotten oranges will fall, but they will not go to waste; they will fall to the ground, become part of the soil, and nourish the tree for new oranges to grow.

The renewal, rebirth, and growth would not happen if the sky did not allow the rain to fall.

Are you going to allow yourself to fall?

If so, you have to try at least and take that first step. I will now sit here, listening to the rain on my tin roof, the thundering clash in the distance, and enjoy the new growth right before my eyes.

Grateful that I have this platform to share and thank Yana Bostongirl and B.R. Shenoy for providing a prompt that is so close to my heart- nature 💚

XOXO
