In 1968, the Pueblo a US non-secret lightweight cargo ship. Colloquially known as a spy ship was intercepting messages off the coast of North Korea. The ship fell into enemy hands. Commander Lloyd Bucher was forced to confess the crimes he and his men had committed on pain of death.
His written confession began with the words “We paean the People’s Republic of North Korea. We Paen their great leader Kim II sung.” When reading his confession he pronounced the word pee on

A peen is the reverse side of a hammer used for peening metal. As in a ball peen hammer, straight peen hammer, or cross peen hammer.
