Want To Get A Million Views Online? Follow These Strategies
3 strategies you can implement to hack the algorithm

Did you know that content creators love coming up with conspiracy theories?
- “The platform is trying to control how much money I make each month.”
- “My content that took ten minutes to make didn’t perform well. Therefore, the entire system is rigged.”
- “People with lots of followers have secret deals with the platform to get their content boosted in the algorithm.”
Contrary to what people might say in Facebook groups, the reason behind your lack of success isn’t an evil plan by tech companies to suppress your content. Instead, it’s often a lack of knowledge about how to optimize your content to perform well in the algorithm.
One Piece Of Content Can Change Your Life
I know that from personal experience.
In May 2020, I wrote an article about productivity that generated over 200k views and $5,000. Having grown up in a working-class family, earning several thousand dollars from one article is difficult to wrap my head around. But now, I find it much easier to sleep at night as I’m no longer worried about paying rent or putting food on the table.
My life is so much better because I took the necessary time and effort to optimize my content for algorithms. And if you want to do the same, here are several strategies you can implement to get more views:
1) Make sure your title and thumbnail don’t suck
There are loads of amazing videos on YouTube with incredible cinematography and editing. However, they don’t have many views because the title and thumbnail aren’t optimized for the algorithm. The same is often true for blogging websites.
So, if you want to get more views on your content, consider spending more time on your titles and thumbnails.
- Understand what compels viewers to click as the presentation of your titles, subtitles, and thumbnails are crucial.
- Know what type of images are eye-catching while scrolling through an infinite feed of content.
- Realize that thousands of extra views are possible — but only if you put in the work to improve your titles and thumbnails.
2) Give people a reason to stay after clicking on your content
As mentioned above, a good title and thumbnail are important for getting people to click on your article or video. But if you want people to stay, a compelling intro is vital.
Don’t lose your audience on the first sentence. To maintain everyone’s attention, every second of your content should be interesting and worth the time of your audience.
Here are several things you can do:
- Add some humor to make people smile.
- Provide them with an interesting fact, story, or personal anecdote.
- Connect with your audience by talking to them directly, so they feel engaged and emotionally invested in whatever you have to say.
Little additions to your content like those can make a big difference. Give your audience a reason to stay, and they’ll feel compelled to read or watch until the end.
3) Delete everything that isn’t necessary
I’ll delete 20% of everything I write during the editing process. Because like a cute puppy, my articles are full of fluff whenever I sit down and write the first draft.
Why do I do that? To make the content more enjoyable for my audience. Or, at the very least, I don’t want them to waste time reading something that isn’t even relevant to the article.
If you make a video that’s ten minutes long, consider editing it down to eight minutes. Similarly, if you write an article that’s 1,000 words, reduce the length to 800.
Stephen King calls this process “killing your darlings.” Delete that sentence. Remove that paragraph. Also, get rid of anything that’s there solely to boost the word count. Once you get rid of everything that isn’t absolutely necessary, you’ll be left solely with the things that are.
To recap, successful content creators do the following things to beat the algorithm and get more views:
- They make sure their titles and thumbnails don’t suck
- They give people a reason to stay after clicking on their content
- They delete everything that isn’t necessary
Once I began optimizing my content for the algorithm, I noticed my monthly views increasing exponentially. Plus, my income skyrocketed as my content was being seen by more people.
So, if you want to become a full-time content creator, consider implementing these strategies. Hopefully, they will help you too.
