Life is a feeling.

You wake up in the morning, jump out of bed, brush your teeth, get ready, and rush to the breakfast table. Slow down a bit. Savor your food.

You write. You tap keys on your keyboard. But when you face a deadline, you hit the keys fast. Please stop and zoom out.

You buy stuff and pay your bills. You worry about your finances. Try to be calm.

You watch movies and check your social media feed. Without these, you get bored in a minute. Why?

Why do you feel exhausted in the evening? Where did your day go? Who lived your life if you did not feel a thing?

Think. Re-assess your priorities. You have to feel alive. Life is not a piece of tech. It isn’t on or off. Your feelings require some time to develop.

Remember Abraham Lincoln’s quote, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” Feel the right course to take. Feel your way forward.

Do you know who is going slow? Uber is not showing a profit after twelve years. Youtube was not profitable for more than ten years. Jeff Bezos wrote to the shareholders how no profit was a good thing in 2012.

Imagine your life is a road trip. You want to reach your destination, and you floor the accelerator. But you have to remember the brake pedal too. It is there for you to slow down.

The car starts in the first gear. It is slow before it goes fast. Once you slow down, you can see ways to move into high gear, when you can go fast — without doing too much.

Going fast may hurt your health. Mental and physical health should be your priority. Don’t go so fast that you have to stop later. So take a break. Loosen up. Feel. Be deliberate.

Feeling the life in you is your purpose — in one way or another.

Don’t do what everybody else is doing. It is a recipe for failure.

Go for a walk. Look at the rising sun. See how it slowly moves up in the blue sky. Feel its rays on your skin. Feel the morning breeze.

The ‘slow movement’ is gaining popularity. Carlo Petrini supports slow food to fight the fast-food trend. ‘Slow science movement’ says that most productive researchers are often the least reliable.

Modern-day anxieties can overwhelm us. Slowing down lessens stress. When we relax, we see solutions to our problems more clearly. You become more focused on the present moment in time.

Yoga, tai chi, and mindfulness may help you. Read, create art, exercise, or play with your pet. Don’t burn out. Learn to slow down.

Life is not a race. Change your perspective. Life has to be felt and enjoyed. Your love of life is the key to your overall success and wellbeing.

Your slowing down habit will take time to develop.

Don’t hurry to slow down 😃.
