Remove Pressure To Improve Your Life
Mental health is more important than anything. Period.
When I started writing on Medium, back in November 2021, I decided I was going to go “all in”.
I was going to dedicate myself to writing daily and publishing often.
This started well.
I did write daily and publish relatively often. Then, something happened.
Life got in the way! I know, right!
How dare my real-life deign to get in the way of my plans.
So, I haven’t written much and published even less.
I actually feel guilty.
I’ve still been reading on Medium, but not contributing nearly as much as I’d like.
It’s all very well having a plan and ambition, but we also need to be flexible and when the need arises, adapt and not feel forced into accepting an impossible situation.
Change direction. Move away from the pressure
By re-evaluating my plans, I have removed the mental pressure I was putting on myself to publish.
I feel much better about it.
If you are feeling the pressure to do something and it’s having a negative impact on your life, then do whatever it takes to remove, or reduce, that pressure.
Mental health is so important. It’s much more important than forcing yourself to keep to self-inflicted deadlines.
