How Reading A Specific Quote Each Morning Helped Me Increase My Motivation
A quote that helped me to procrastinate less and use every moment wisely to work on my ideas and vision.

“I can always do that tomorrow.” “I will start it tomorrow.” “I will do it when I have more time.”
Chances that most of us have often told ourselves these words are pretty big. Naturally, we tend to look for the easiest, shortest, and most pleasurable way to do things.
“Why should I put more effort today when I am tired or don’t feel emotionally well if I can do it tomorrow? Tomorrow I will feel better.”
I used to do that, as well. Procrastinating until tomorrow and then the next day again. I was waiting for the perfect moment to have enough time, energy, motivation, or feel right.
Since I have been reading a specific quote aloud each morning, it has helped me increase my motivation and sense of urgency.
What is the quote?
The quote is from the famous American football and baseball player Tim Tebow. I paraphrased it to use “I” instead of “we.”
“This is my day! I can’t wait for tomorrow, tomorrow is not promised, but I have a chance today. To reclaim my dream, ignite my passion, and live out my purpose. Cause that’s a choice, it’s a choice that I get to make every single day. In the morning, when my alarm clock goes off, I have a chance to wake up and say — this is my day; I am going after it! Or I can have the mindset of just getting by. But I was not built to just get by. Cause I serve a big God. And He loves me and has a purpose for my life. Every day to thrive! There’s a purpose for my life; there’s a purpose for my being here! What is it? How can I make the most out of it? And how can I help the most people and change as many lives in the process as possible? Reclaim your dream! Ignite Your Passion! Live out your purpose! Go, and do it now! This is my day!”
/Tim Tebow/
I find this quote very inspirational and reminding us of the value of the present moment. Every day matters, and there is a purpose for our lives!

How Has This Quote Helped Me?
I have been repeating it daily in the morning in front of the mirror after I wake up.
It has increased my sense of urgency and given me excitement about how much I can do in a single day if I am focused.
For me, a sense of urgency is positive stress or eustress, motivating me to act here and now.
Of course, we cannot always act here and now — there are still regular duties we have — work, school, taking care of others, etc. As for me, I currently have a hectic schedule: working full time and University full-time.
However, in any free time — in mornings and evenings, Saturdays, and sometimes Sundays, I am trying to work on my business. I am generating ideas for articles and writing, editing, and working on my coaching business: planning, developing ideas, texts, new design for my website.
I am learning new knowledge all the time — either reading or watching webinars from famous coaches to know their thoughts, strategies, and ways to do business.
I don’t procrastinate anymore as much I used to do that, waiting to act when I feel good. I don’t want to waste time anymore doing things that don’t contribute to my vision and goals. I want to use every minute and every hour wisely.
I feel a responsibility as I am the only one who can either make or break my dreams.
There is a saying I heard somewhere that if the desire is big enough, we will find time; if not, we will find an excuse.
I think it is a combination of both: we need to have a strong enough desire to make sacrifices, not excuses. However, we also need to work on keeping the fire of our desire burning.
For me, reading such a quote every day is a great way how to keep my desire burning.
To sum it up, this quote helps me to: 1) to have a more focused mind, 2) motivates me to take action right now instead of procrastinating, 3) reminds me that I have a plan and purpose for my life, 4) increases my self-belief.
Since I read this quote aloud, I procrastinate less and use every moment to work on my ideas and vision. I don’t need to look for motivation and enthusiasm anymore as much as I had to do it once.

Why It Works So Well?
Studies by neurobiologists and cognitive psychologists show that we are on automatic pilot 50% of our time. 40–95% of human behavior falls into the habit category.
It means that so often we automatically act upon the beliefs which are written in our subconscious minds.
Let’s say someone lives under the impression that his/her life does not mean that much — he/she thinks there is little they can do to impact or change in the world.
In that case, this person will mainly try to survive and get by instead of thriving. They will not take necessary action (small steps daily) to change their lives and, therefore, impact those around them. They will find an excuse because our brain naturally seeks the easiest way.
However, once we install new beliefs in our subconscious mind, we will start acting upon them.
One of the most common negative beliefs for many people is the perception: “I am not good enough.”
But it can be easily changed by rewiring the brain with positive affirmations, such as, “I am special, always enough, and awesome exactly as I am.”
Taking a quote and turning it into the “I am” format is the same.
And the great thing is that it has been written by somebody who is already where you want to be. The words contain positive expectations and increased belief in one’s abilities.
However, take only the quote that you also really like. One that makes you smile.
As for me, whenever I read this quote aloud, I feel joyfulness and excitement. Don’t just take a quote that logically sounds good but does not raise positive vibration in you.
