How Quickly We Forget

It’s naturally occurring but still unfortunate.

ClipArt from Apple is supplied with each laptop.

Most of us compartmentalize. This helps us so that we don’t continually focus on something that brings us down.

On days like today, we should open those compartments up and let the contents see the light of day. In my lifetime, I’ve seen Vietnam up close. I’ve seen the aftermath of 911. Arriving just two days after, I saw firsthand what it was doing to its citizens, my friends, and businesses around the towers.

I’ve seen the damage one country can do to another. I’ve also seen what can happen when two people disagree over religion, nationality, culture, or the color of someone's skin. Recently, we’ve also seen what can be done and said to people whose sexuality doesn’t represent our own view.

I can truthfully say we know how to destroy one another. Here’s the real question that every memorial day brings to my mind.

“When will we say that there has been enough and start living in PEACE.”

To those that have helped others, on behalf of the rest of us, THANK YOU.

It’s wonderful that Medium allows us to remember and gives us a forum to state our beliefs. Please consider this young writer:
