How Our Political System Fails All Voters

Your Voice No Longer Matters — Politics: From the Mountain

Let’s Play Jeopardy!

Millions of Americans vote in local, state, and federal elections annually. Your vote may not count.

Let’s say this is a Jeopardy question and you’re a tv contestant. You chose “Politics” for $100. “Why your vote may not count” is the answer.

Your response: Politicians vote for or against what they personally want, not what their constituents want.

Correct! For $100!!

And You Thought Your Vote Counts?

Your vote doesn’t count. Surprised? You shouldn’t be if you’re paying attention. Many don’t.

Pick any election going to the polls today… local, state, federal. What do you hear when you listen to them speak? “I will do this.” “I want this.” “I believe in this.”

Wouldn’t you prefer to hear: “What do my constituents want me to do?” “Is this what the voters want?” What do my constituents believe?”

Now we do want those running for office to have a platform to run on. We do want to know their ideas and how they plan to address the issues faced. We also want to know they are listening to us, the constituent.

Politicians, Corporate “Sponsors”, and Cult Members

The truism about our political system today is that politicians are not running for office to accomplish what you, the constituent, want. It’s about them. It’s about what they want. It’s about what a smaller group, a group that voted for them wants. It’s about what their corporate sponsors want. It’s about money.

Politicians no longer view their jobs as representing ALL their constituents. Instead, they believe they represent a certain group that supported them.

Look at ‘Roe v Wade’ today. Considered established law for 50 years, and supported by 70% of Americans, politicians are still seeking to dismantle it. In fact, as another example to many of the politicization of the Supreme Court, this 50-year-old law is about to be dismantled.

Or Social Security and Medicare which have millions upon millions dependent upon these programs to live. But elected politicians refer to these programs as “entitlements”, and it’s not because we are entitled to the money from them (we are). Every year there is a scramble to find ways to make it harder to receive these benefits that we paid for over the past 40–50 years.

Yet knowing what a majority of their constituents want, they refuse again to address the desire of the voters. And if not a majority, or a close majority, wouldn’t it be responsible to provide explanations, or better, work with constituents to find an agreeable solution for as many as possible?

With politicians and judges abdicating their responsibilities, small fringe groups and corporations are better represented than the majority of citizens in the country.

Change is Possible?

Possibly our system can be fixed and the way things are done altered to provide the right of representation to all… but I don’t see that happening yet.

This country has proven to have very few rocket scientists, because though it shouldn’t take one to understand what is happening to the political system we depend upon for democracy, it seems to be a requirement.

There are millions of voters, millions of Americans who support politicians such as the blond swamp creature from Georgia who claims “Jewish Space Lazers started our forest fires”, or the Grifter-in-Chief flying around the country still claiming he was cheated in an election 2 years ago.

Or the NC Congressman recently seen posing in women's lingerie… the same one caught twice with loaded guns in an airport and claimed he watched members of Congress inhaling Cocaine. Or just choose almost any politician from the State of Arizona. All with lifetime MAGA passes on the Klown Train.

Change will only come about if voters change. But challenging millions of Americans to change from living as intellectual illiterates to someone who actually gives a shit, well … it’s a real challenge.

Return to The Basics

  1. Don’t vote for a political party. Vote for a person.
  2. Don’t support carpet baggers. Support local citizens in elections.
  3. Attend events for all candidates and ASK HARD QUESTIONS.
  4. Listen to all sides, not just those that support your preconceived notions.

Let’s face it. If voters fail or refuse to change, to be willing to learn, and at times to change opinions, then we are doomed to listen for years to come to the fairytales being spun, hearing about space lasers, and most importantly…

… we will lose our freedoms and rights as citizens in this country. Electing these intellectually deficient clowns whose only interest is gaining attention to build a brand that allows them to bring in millions in cash is NOT going to protect those rights and freedoms we have enjoyed. It will destroy our country from within as predicted by the past leader of the Soviet Union, Kruschev.
