How Much Youtube Paid Me With Only 39 Videos in 2021

Image from me

I didn’t publish videos for 10 months and this is what YouTube paid me

2021 was the first year I was fully monetized on YouTube. I started my YouTube channel in 2017 and only used it to repurpose my Facebook Lives. I also uploaded very sporadically.

It wasn’t until 2020 that I wanted to grow my channel, and make actual YouTube videos. And, it was in the latter half of 2020, that I achieved the requirements to be monetized — 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours.

So, in 2021 I was raring to make some high-quality videos, and I did, until May hit. I created 39 videos from January until the end of April 2021.

But, then I stopped…for 10 months and didn’t publish a video until 2022.

Why did I stop?

I got busy. I was updating my course Ready Set Blog for Traffic and that took many hours of editing.

I was also writing for clients and my many sites. And, I also have twins and during the warm months, we did many outdoor things.

And, what about the fall/winter? I was in a funk, and couldn’t focus on making videos. So, I took an extended break.

Well, how did my channel do? Did I suffer? I mean, it was my first year being monetized, so I have to know the baseline to go from.

So, let’s check out my analytics for YouTube.

How Many Subscribers I Gained in 2021

YouTube subscriber growth

I wrote about how my channel continued to grow in spite of not publishing videos.

One big area of growth was my subscriber growth. It was 53% more than in 2020 (when I was actively trying to grow my channel).

I’m fortunate that I’ve built up my “name” and my followers and students gladly subscribed to my channel (as well as new people).

How Many Total Views I Garnered in 2021

Image by the Author: Total views for 2021

For 2021, I generated 124,482 total views!

Not bad, considering that’s a 102% increase from 2020!

What little videos I did publish seem to resonate with my views. The most popular videos for 2021 were:

The last video wasn’t made in 2021 but in Dec. of 2020.

It seems talking about services/products and copywriting does well on my channel. That’s nice to know, and it will help me create more content around these topics.

Not all of those top three videos make my top three earners though.

How Much I Earned from 39 Youtube Videos in 2021

Image by the Author: How much I earned in 2021

I’m happy to see that I earned $2,923.95 for 39 videos!

This tells me that if I’m consistent on the platform I stand to make some good money at the end of 2022.

My top videos that generate me the most income:

The second video was not a top-viewed video for 2021. Instead, my video on easy writing jobs won that spot.

What About for 2022?

My channel has already earned $1,300 and I’m planning to create more videos.

I’m excited to continue to grow my freelance writing YouTube channel! If you want actionable freelance writing advice, come subscribe to my channel!
