How Much Youtube Paid Me For A 100,000+ Viewed Video
On 25th January 2023, I clicked the ‘publish’ button for my video titled “How To Create Coloring Books FAST With Midjourney For Amazon KDP | Step by Step Guide.” It felt like a step of faith.
I had poured hours into creating an in-depth, step-by-step guide on a trending topic which was AI. However, I decided to put my own spin on it and focus on coloring book creation with the help of Midjourney, a text-to-image generator, and upload it to Amazon KDP.
While the trend of AI videos was towards creating short clickbait videos methods to make $100,000 a month, lol, I wanted to take a different route.
My goal was to dive deep, to provide something comprehensive, something unique that would genuinely help viewers who were interested in making money with Midjourney.
I covered everything from research to creating interiors and covers, the basics of using Midjourney, putting the book together, and finally uploading it to Amazon KDP.
All of this was packaged in a 22-minute video — a compact, yet thorough guide for anyone interested in the subject.
Making this video was an exercise in time management and commitment. Despite having a full-time job, I dedicated hours to recording and editing, prioritizing the quality of my content over all else.
I believe if you’re focused on creating the best channel you can, you have to make the sacrifices necessary to go into more detail than others.
And then came the rewarding part.
On the first day, it gained over 1k views which was insane for my channel and had never had before.
In the months that followed, the video gathered momentum. Viewers started pouring in, and my analytics started reflecting their interest.
Today, the video has over 105,000 views, with a total watch time of 7.8k hours. My subscriber count shot up by 2,200, all thanks to this single video. And the best part? My earnings for this video crossed $930.60, and that’s not even counting the affiliate earnings of over $200 I made from it.
The CPM (cost per thousand views) for this video was $28.89, while the RPM (revenue per thousand views) stood at $8.63.
For some, these numbers might not be amazing, although for me, these figures show how rewarding YouTube can be with just one high-quality, detailed video. It can create a snowball effect, with one video leading to more views, subscribers, and, of course, earnings.
Seeing the success of this video inspired me to create more in this style. I realized the potential of AI content and how much viewers appreciated a detailed tutorial.
It motivated me to continue delivering high-quality, informative content to my audience, and it proved that putting in extra effort to provide valuable content is a worthy investment.

I share this to inspire. YouTube is a platform with vast potential, a space where creativity, hard work and a little patience can yield tremendous results. I don’t even show my face on my channel and I’m able to create videos on topics I enjoy whilst earning money!
