How Much Money is Too Much Money?
How much money does it really take to be rich?
I have always wondered how much money does it actually take to be rich and how much money is too much money.
I still remember how I was extremely thrilled when I got my first job where I was being paid 850 dollars every month and I still recall how happy and excited I felt. That was the first time I was earning and that amount was very significant to me.
However, as months passed, I started getting used to that salary and it started to no longer excite me. I was extremely grateful, yet I started to hate that salary.
I was constantly finding myself comparing myself with my peers and classmates which really affected me and somehow it made me feel extremely demotivated.
However, things took a turn when I got promoted and that is when I started earning decently. Again, I found the motivation to work harder and I was extremely glad that my efforts were being recognized.
A couple of months later, this salary also started to bore me. That is when I realized that no matter how much more you will earn, you will truly never be satisfied and that is human nature.
Even if you were to earn a million dollars annually, you would eventually start seeking out more and that is okay. That is the thing with money and that is what it does to us.
You could be out there earning a million dollars and still be unhappy. There are a lot of people earning less than 20k per annum however, and they are still happy.
It is all about the mentality and your ability to adjust to the surroundings and manage your lifestyle effectively. It is crucial to look back and see how far you have come. You need to be grateful for everything. The very same life you complain and rant about, is someone’s luxury.
So matter of fact, you would never be happy with the amount of money you are earning and that is okay. The majority of the people feel the same way.
It is okay to not be okay and this is one of those times. Undoubtedly, money does give a lot of freedom to make decisions however it is not everything. Always remember the best things in life are not paid, such as relationships, health, love, and many more.
I used to have an unhealthy obsession with money, but as years passed I started to bother less about it and I am proud of that. I was often unhappy when I was in the pursuit of making more and more money. Now that, I have let go of that unhealthy obsession I find myself being more relaxed and happy.
